We stopped at this KOA to rest after a week of travel. This KOA is family owned and they take particular care and pride in running a their CG. They offer full hookups and bath facilities, including laundry. Also, they offer trash pickup at your site twice daily. We used all the equipment and facilities; everything was very clean and in good working order. The two bath/shower building directly in front of the office have low shower water pressure. It is a big CG with lots of sites yet there is adequate room between sites. The CG can be really dusty since its always breezy and the roads/campsites are gravel. The staff does everything they can to keep down the dust. The staff keeps a close eye on the entire CG and we like that; we do wish it was gated for security. We received a 10% KOA member discount. It’s important to know that this KOA is located right next to a small, busy municipal airport. Aircraft fly directly over the CG. Judge Orr Road, which you enter the KOA on, is loud and especially busy during the week’s rush hours. This CG is nice, although expensive for what you get. Interesting note: The rules state you can’t wash your rig at the CG but you can use one of the local contractors and let them wash it. Listening to the pressure washer the contractor uses during the day gets to be a bit much after awhile.

I really wanted to love this place, but it is a bit expensive for what you get. We did a pull through Patio site, and you get a nice long pull through with a large patch of rocks between sites (with very small trees) and a concrete pad with a picnic table, but that's it (no fire pit).
The amenities are nice - they have a really nice set of private showers (two in a little building that smelled of cedar that included actual towels for your hands and shower if you wanted) which were warm (but not hot) and decent pressure. There were also really high flow HOT showers inside the office building by the laundry that were huge (one of them has two showers in one room - great if you have kids), but the ADA accessible shower drained water into the room instead of into the shower drain.
They make really tasty popcorn in the office everyday that you can take for free - we took that every day! They have a nice tiny store with the essentials and some local stuff. They have tetherball, a basketball court, a pickleball court and a playground, but no pool or hot tub. The campground is huge, and the showers are only by the first row of pull throughs (Pike's Peak lane), so just take note if you need showers (there is parking by the bathhouses).
There is still a bit of traffic noise, and you are near a small airport (but there's only plane noise during the day until about 9pm), but it's relatively convenient to areas like the Air Force Academy (which is about 35 minutes away) and parts of Colorado Springs which are about 20-40 minutes away. There is a Safeway near by and a lot of taco restaurants.

Because this is a newer KOA, it’s really just a huge parking lot with small, young trees. There’s no shade and no privacy between spots. The space between spots is a good size though- you’re not on top of your neighbors. Thankfully it wasn’t full. They’ve done some nice rockscaping which looks nice, but I don’t think they thought it through because when picking up dog poop, you’ll inevitably have to pick up a few rocks as well. The staff were friendly and we liked that they come around and pick up your trash 3 times a day. But, the biggest reason I give less stars is because for a campground this size (I’m gonna guess over 100 spots), there are only 2 washers and 2 dryers. I can’t imagine what this would be like in the busy season. It’s next to a small airport, which didn’t bother us, but there is definitely plane noise. It is close to many stores, services, etc. and we liked that it wasn’t right in the middle of a city- it’s set out farther in openness. Overall, it is overpriced for what you get at $70 a night.
