This place was great! Paved and level campsites. Generous canopies over metal picnic tables on pavement at every site. Very generous spacing between sites and a lake view as well. Faint sounds of interstate 80 from far across the lake. Facilities were fresh and new. One of the best RV sites I’ve ever had.

Significant road noise when outside. Dogs running offleash, including aggressive breed and host's dog. Did address this with DNR when they drove through and they spoke to host. We stayed 3 days and never saw sites cleaned when campers left. Host site is an eyesore.

We stayed one night here. It's a little confusing, because there are two locations that are labeled "Echo State Park" right next to each other. The first "Echo State Park" we were directed to by Google maps was a day-use area that is a little run-down, overgrown, and busy, and there were "no camping" signs everywhere. We exited that spot and went a little further down Echo Dam Road to the brand new facility that is the correct campground. Once we got there, it was great. The sites are all very easy to maneuver through; some are pull-throughs, and they all have covered picnic tables. The bathrooms and showers are very clean, and there are many of them for the few sites that exist here.
It was hot when we got here, so we immediately wanted to check out the water. We didn't have watercraft (but noticed many who did), so we set up a canopy on the beachy area and swam in the water. It was pleasant enough and also shallow for wading. Just a bummer that we didn't have floaties or kayaks, SUPs this time. The beach is grassy and sandy, so bring a blanket. We drove our truck on it later because we decided we wanted food and drinks out there too, and it was more than we wanted to haul. 4-wheel drive is recommended; some of the sand looks a bit loose toward the top. Or you could bring a wagon and be fine. We were only there for an overnight, so it all worked great. The sites are spaced out enough even though sometimes there isn't a lot of vegetation between sites, but overall we were pretty happy with our stay.
In the morning, we could see white pelicans in the water. Unusual sight!

It's in a canyon across from I-84 which can be heard but is mostly a steady background noise. Lots of water activities on the reservoir behind Echo Dam. We were there on a Saturday night and it was as full and noisy as would be expected but quieted down nicely after 10 pm.
Our Verizon phones got 2-3 bars LTE and occasionally experienced slowdowns but was adequate for emails.
