Very nice facilities and easy levelled sites. Far from the dunes but that’s not a big deal. We checked in super late so just went right to our spot and a ranger came by to get our info. It’s $25/night or $12.50 if you have an eligible parks pass.

The equipment length limitations on recreation.gov are accurate: These are mostly stubby parking spots off of the main loops. The woods are thick and the shade is abundant. Lots of birds for viewing.
However, the campground is in a busy transportation corridor, with I-94 and a train to the south, and Highways 20 and 12 & a light rail to the north. The drone of traffic from both directions never stops and echoes quite nicely through the woods. Train horns occur every 30 minutes or so.

Very nice campground, nicely spaced, paved sites. You just can't beat national forest campgrounds in my opinion. The only complaints I could make are that the train horn is pretty frequent and, the bathroom, while looking pretty clean, smelled heavily of urine.

This campground is located within Indiana Dunes National Park. The sites are reserved on recreation.gov Our RV is a 37 foot class A and the height is 12’1” There were some low branches pulling into the campground, within in the loops and near the dump station. The tree cover throughout the campground and most sites is pretty significant. We were able to get some solar, but not a lot. The dump station is only one lane and it’s one way. As you pull into the dump station you come to the dump and non potable water first. You then have to drive forward to get potable water.
After checking in at the campground information center the dump station is to the right. The two camping loops are to the left. Each loop has their own restrooms and showers. The showers were not clean and I would not want to use them. In addition, at each restroom there was a water refill station and sink for campers to do dishes. Dumpsters and water spigots were also located within the loops.
There are both back in & pull through sites for RVs. In addition, there are some walk in tent sites as well. Site 54 was a back in site. Behind the parking pad there was a tent space as well as picnic table and fire ring. According to the website the driveway length is 46’ and it was also plenty wide. We could park our Honda CRV next to our RV (with our slides out) or parallel to the road in front of our RV. The host made it clear that all tires need to be on the pavement. She escorted us to our site because she thought we weren’t going to fit. Upon check in she immediately started explaining how a 5th wheel just had to leave because they were too large for their site. She also explained quiet hours from 1000-0600 and then discouraged us from using our generator. The interaction with the host all seemed very bizarre.
Verizon signal was 3-4 bars 5G. No issues with calling, texting, searching the internet, or streaming videos.

We stayed 4 nights in the Mather section at site 29. Very roomy and nice. It was right across from the bathrooms and shower. The campground shady and a short drive from the beach. Staff was very friendly. The site didn’t have electric or water hook ups.

We arrived in late April, very few campers in the area. We are part timers usually boondocking. Potable water and a dump site are available over at one end of the campground. All sites are great tent campers or small rigs less than twenty feet. We have 25 ft Airstream and full size pick up truck 20 feet long, total of 48 feet when connected. We were in site M4 for two nights, no problem for anything up to about 52 feet. Very level.
We could have fit the trailer into any number of other sites, disconnect and still fit the truck in side by side or angled as follows:
M1 / 2/ side by side
M5 long but uphill grade
M6/7/8/21/27/34 require side by side parking maybe 30 feet deep.
M 23/24/25/26/28/29 look ok for 45 feet
All not mentioned we would avoid.
On the D loop, only D 36/38/39/40/41/46/47/50/52 looked big enough for us. 40/41/47/52 are pull thru, everything thing else is back in.

One night stay mid-week as a tent camper. Other campers very quiet. Some faint traffic train noise but rain and wind from NW drowned out most of it. Felt safe and slept well. Only disappointment was all the sand I collected on my gear! ;)
