Beautiful and remote, but 1/4 from I-70 so you can hear the vehicles. F250 in 4wd and truck camper. I wouldn’t try it in a typical rv. If you are able to get back it is worth the effort.

Stopped on our way home for a night, just looking for a quick stop off of Hwy 70. The road to the camp ground is very narrow heading down to the campsites. There is also a steep grade that is very sandy and bumpy. It’s difficult to find a place you can turn around before you hit the grade. The road seems to be used a lot by ATVs and is pretty torn up. Only the first campsite is accessible for an RV if you decide to chance it. There is a lot Hwy noise since you are only about 200’ - 300’ away from it. Once we got settled for the night my husband questioned whether we will be able to pull the trailer up and out because of the grade of the hill and the sand. Luckily our F150 in 4WD low managed it but it was slipping, sliding and shaking all the way up. We learned a valuable lesson to walk or ride a bike down to check it out first before driving an unknown, dirt road.

Came here in early June 2018. Lots of sites along Horse Canyon road on side dirt roads. We parked and took a short walk to find a decent private spot. Very little shade and it was in the mid 90's. Price is about 25 miles away for anything you might need. East Carbon is closer, about 10 miles with a gas station and fully stocked trading post/grocery store. Mountain views are beautiful, Price has a dinosaur museum and dinosaur quarry, and that's about it. Easy access off of highway 191. Saw antelope and mule deer. Oh, and plenty of firewood!
Stayed in a 23' Airstream.
Pgrenier would stay here again
