I was generally happy with my stay. The campsite was renovated in late 2022. The water pressure has increased and is good. The electricity is all 50 amp and there is sewage for every site. I was generally happy with my stay. The campsite was renovated in late 2022. The water pressure has increased and is good. The electricity is all 50 amp and there is sewage for every site. One downfall is there is no dry camping options. The maintenance staff is incredibly helpful and easily approachable and very kind. Unfortunately, there was a massive increase in cost recently and it is no longer financially suitable for me.

The spacing between sites allows for easy maneuverability upon entrance and exit. The hook ups are newer as of 2022 and the spots are generally pretty level making it easy to set up. The spacing between sites allows for easy maneuverability upon entrance and exit. The hook ups are newer as of 2022 and the spots are generally pretty level making it easy to set up. Water pressure is good. The cleaning staff and maintenance personnel are friendly and easily approachable. The road to get there is relatively bumpy and steep hills can be difficult if your trailer sits load to the ground. Prices recently increased, and in my opinion, it has become too expensive for me.

“Not a dog friendly beach at all”

Camped in row 5. Nice place but you can’t take dogs on the beach. Their John Deere maintenance vehicles are up and running all hours and they blow out the bathrooms/showers at 0630 which wakes everyone nearby. Reasonable price considering the prices off base.

You have to have base access. It’s for active duty, reserve/guard, retired, and or some government contractors employees. It’s on the higher side of prices, but beach front is worth it.

Arrival - Super easy with everything arranged well ahead of arrival. Tips - Make sure you come in via the main gate and stay to the far right to immediately access the "Del Mar" exit to Wire Mountain Rd. If you want to get out of a little bit off the sand, consider row #3 which has asphalt pads; rows 1, 2, and 4 are all sand. Fa... more

Favorites - Close to beach, easy access to everything on Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Carlsbad, San Diego etc.
Negatives - Really got busy over Labor Day Weekend and pretty difficult to get anyone on the phone to make reservations.
