When we arrived check-in was very quick and easy. The super friendly park attendant even revised our reservation and saved us some money when we bought the annual state park pass.
I brought up the map pdf on my phone and it was easy to find our spot. Spot # 18 was a little tight for backing-in our 30’ trailer, but would have been easier if we had entered from the other direction. There is a nice lake view and an area across the road which was handy for the dog potty breaks. We were near the restrooms/showers which are very nice and well-maintained. The sites are very nice with a fire pit, picnic table and grill. Our site was pretty level, but we saw many that were not. There is plenty of space between sites.
The public areas are all well maintained. The fishing pier is large with rentals for various non-motorized crafts. The store is only open Thursday-Sunday.
The Mountain Trail was a nice climb with pretty views at the top and the Rustling Leaves Trails is longer and more relaxing.
We really enjoyed this park and will come again.

Looking out the window at the sun filtering through the trees is awe inspiring! Our RV site has a tent pad that our grandkids will be using this weekend. It's no wonder I had to reserve my site 3 months in advance!

Good park. We came here to work from our trailer for the week, and I wouldn’t recommend it for that since the signal can vary greatly from site to site. We didn’t have any Verizon, and had limited AT&T.
The site is huge and the trash, bathroom, lake, hiking trails are all close enough to be very convenient but far enough away to not be a problem with traffic for the site.
There are minimal trails, but they’re nice.
The site driveway is short, very lumpy, and very unlevel. We never actually got level after finding the best spot on the drive and using our 4” Anderson levelers on one side. Almost every back in site we saw had this problem to some degree. I am giving 4 stars only for this and that the space between this site and site 13 allowed for no privacy. With the wrong neighbors, your stay could be a lot less relaxing/fun.
Overall, really great park for a peaceful getaway. Some parks are empty during the week - this one is not, but it never got noisy or disruptive. If you get the opportunity to get one of the pull through on the lake, those sites look amazing!

We visited DSP Dec 4-6, 2020, about a month too late to see the best fall color. Nonetheless, this is a beautiful quiet park, with tall pines, mature hardwoods and excellent walking trails surrounding the picture perfect lake. I walked the Mountain View and Rustling Leaves trails. Both are well marked and easy to follow. Didn't use the showers, but the restroom buildings with flush toilets appear to be new and are first class, relative to the other state parks that we have used. We parked our 27' trailer in slot #34 of the Mountain View area, the only site available for Fri-Sun stay when we booked it a week before our visit. The pads on this, downhill, side of the loop are very un-level, and ours was also very eroded. (See pics.) The loop road is pretty narrow, so all that would make it a little dicey for me to back in a longer unit. All sites are full hookup, but our sewer connection was so far uphill that it was impossible to use. Fortunately we were able to hold our black water (Hold it, hold it!) until we left, so could pull out onto the road, hook up, and dump. There is no separate dump station in the park, AFAIK.
