Over priced, but no issues. I saw other reviews for low water pressure and “golf cart Nazis”. Water pressure in site 88 was fine, and I guess you only get the “golf cart Nazi” treatment if you’re being a douche bag? No issues for us on those points. One of the worst campground experiences we've had in the Custer, SD area. They have wider than normal RV sites, it's not too far from Custer, a few office staff are nice, but they really ruin it by creating a police state with the golf cart monitoring and pettiness.

Policed the entire time. Stayed here 4 nights in a tent. Very expensive for a piece of grass and some water to put up a tent without electric. Watch out for the man in the golf cart patrol that comes by at 10:57 sharp every morning to make sure you check out on time. And my biggest complaint is he came by whenever we weren't at our campsite and threw our collected firewood back into the woods....said can't be on the ground....after we just picked it up off the ground 10 feet away. Of course they want you to buy their $9 firewood and not use dead wood on the ground. Just know you can buy $5 firewood right down the road which is what we did for the rest of our stay there. I think for $36 a night to set up a tent you should be left alone and not policed all of the time. Oh and they told us you can't check in after 7 p.m. because of noise. Except everybody and their cousin kept driving in for half the night after we arrived. Won't stay here again.

We had our 38’ Super C with Ford Ranger Tow Car - both fit into a back in site easily. There were other pull through even larger and some super sized - the largest pull through that I’ve seen at a park. This park is exceptionally the nicest park we’ve stayed in. Roads are firm packed gravel, sites are spacious with nice grass (yes, really grass!), picnic table, fire pit and grill at each site. We stayed four nights and I didn’t want to leave. While we didn’t use the bathrooms and showers I did go inside, they were very clean. I believe two showers in the building right near the office. You can buy ice very reasonably priced ($3 for 5#, $8 for 16#). The town of Custer is literally 5 minutes down the road. We didn’t eat out here but there are a few bars/grills. One grocery store with a good selection but a little pricey (as expected in a little tourist town). Great location - close to everything here - Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park entrance is right down the street (Needle’s Highway up to Sylvan Lake is a must do). Badlands were about an 1 to 1.5 hrs. From here; easy drive; as is Rapid City if you need to make a larger supply run. I highly recommend this park - we will return!

Each site backs on to natural forested land so you don’t feel all bunched up.

Great location because it was very close to everything in the Black Hills but unlike the park campgrounds this had full hook ups, wifi and ability to burn wood for bonfires. Our campsite backed up to a wooded area where we watched a family of deer every evening. Scenery was nice! It was a more adult oriented campground because it didn't have a playground, pool etc. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The campground also had their own rental cars which although well used, served their purpose in getting us all around the lovely Black Hills. Would definitely go here again if in the area! Cell service was challenging, but wifi was adequate especially if you were situated near one of their boosters. Best wifi signal came from the office.

Location! Location! Location! We stayed here at the end of May during COVID. Thank you SD for keeping campgrounds open! No tent camping was allowed because the bathrooms and showers had to remain close. This is a quiet campground off of the main road and very close to Custer State Park which is where you will spend most of your time if you stay for more than a couple of days. There are other campgrounds in the area and if you enjoy the sound of trucks engine braking then stay at one of those. This park was so quiet and peaceful you could almost imagine the gulch filled with General Custer's tents. We had full hookups and the gravel site required minor leveling. We drive a small rig but this place is definitely big rig friendly. It is next to a public forest road and some campers simply drove their dirt bikes and side by sides from their site to the public lands next door. The park is also just a couple of miles from the town of Custer which will have everything you need. Some other reviews mention a cranky park owner. Frankly we were a little disappointed that we did not experience any of that. Friendly and helpful owners and staff were the norm for us.

If you stay here, get your pass to the Custer State Park at the beginning of your stay. There is so much to do there you could spend an entire week just doing the park. Passes are $20/week. No daily passes sold.
We also did Big Thunder Gold Mine & 1880 Train. Highly recommend those too!

There's no getting around that this is a well-maintained park. We stayed here in 2018 for a over a month. October 2019 stay was for three weeks. Everything was fine until a rouge storm was predicted to come in the last week we were to be there. We decided that it might be best for us to head back home. So, I went to the owner and told her what our intentions were and wondered if we might be able to get a few nights credit (not a whole week) with them for 2020 as we were going to come back again. She said she would have to discuss it with her husband and let me know. Two days later still no answer. My wife saw them together while she was walking the dog and again asked if we could get some days off for the 2020 stay, we were planning with our grown kids. They were very rude about it and said they would not do that. We were not asking for any money back. But since we had been with them the year before for over a month, we hoped they would like to get a little more money out of us the following year. I guess they feel that they are the best place in Custer, and they don't have to be worry about any lost revenue. The day we left it snowed up to 6 inches that night and stayed in the teens for the next 3 days. Our propane tank in the motorhome would have run out the first night. So, if you have a problem while you're there don't look for any understanding from these people. Most of the bad reviews I saw after this encounter was how rude the owners were. There are other nice RV parks in Custer. We will give them our money.
