We could have fit at numerous sites, but the turnaround at the back is fairly tight, so have a plan for where you’re going if there are a lot of rigs already parked at the back by the pavilion. Lots of trees, so not a lot of good options if you’re counting on solar, but there are a couple spots that get decent sun. Our Verizon got about 30mbps down, but our AT&T phones did not work well for data.

When I arrived there were only 3 campers but filled up by weekend. Friendly campers and very respectful. Close to Dade City shopping. Very quiet. Love to stay here.

If you don’t mind being next to a cow pasture, then this is a great space. Plenty of room to spread out, access to nearby trails and a nice road to walk on. Road in is totally fine. Some noise from the highway at night but not too bad.

The port a potty is very bad, but nearby Ashley camp has a clean vault toilet. Don’t drink the water.
We liked the hard packed two track roads for bike riding. Hardly any bugs were seen or felt, because it was dry. Coyotes howled at night, other wise it was quiet.

Sites are good for just about any size rig. Fire rings avaliable and port a pottie on sight as well. Most of the sites have significant shade so if you are looking for Solar you may have limited options (there may be a few better solor sites over at Ashely).
Road leading to the campground is in great shape. There is a dumpster near the entrance to the wildlife area (next to the hunting checkin office) that we are able to dispose of trash in (confirmed with the campground host over at Ashley).
We will be back to this campground. Dade City is about 15 min away (limited options there) but Zepherhills is about 20 min away and has everything.
Very Good Verizon Service (hotspot with mimo) 30 mbps down and 8 mbps up
Att 3 mbps down and 1 mbps up

Most everything else I mentioned in my review of Ashley is true of Cumpressco. Like Ashley, this had plenty of shade, fire pits, picnic tables and location by a nice trails deeper into the preserve. But this had fewer covered picnic tables and was next to a narrow trail (probably where a tick found me). The cows that graze nearby probably drew whatever we heard skulking in the brush all night. Somehow it seemed just a tiny bit more remote from the rest of the world. A relaxing time if you're prepared for a little wilderness.

Nice free campsite with several non potable water faucets. Lots of shade though so if you need solar it does make it harder. Had a portapotty on site which was clean. All in all was a nice place and was able to get our 40 ft fifth wheel in with minimal effort.

We camped at the Ashley Equestrian campground and checked this one out while over there. Ranger’s told us over the phone big rigs would fit in Compressco. There are a few small sites, but 45’ + rigs would have no issues parking here. For more information check out my review on Ashley Campground.
