The main road was pretty busy, we were also up here for Labor Day weekend. We stayed for 2 weeks in the area, the spot next to the river was very nice, but lots of traffic. Come Labor Day weekend, we had a 5th wheel park right across the road and run their generator for the first 18 hours they were there. We picked up and left. There is a road off to your right (triangle intersection, on the way up) no big rigs are making that road, but much quieter but a few OHV throughout the day. Lots of spots to park at, and plenty of sun off the main road for anyone running Solar. We would come back but head farther back.

You will see campgrounds on your left along the River from Fort Collins in the canyon. Turn left over bridge where there is a large “restricted access fishing “sign. Camp anywhere. There were a few people there already (4 pm) but I followed county road just past forest road 152 and there was a riverfront pull off. Fantastically private area.
barb Bradley would stay here again
