While this campground is on the road to Thunder Mountain Trailhead, which remains open, the forest service website says camping here is closed for the season. But the sites are certainly accessible. And huge! No horse required. This would be a definite when in the area again. However, as they are right on the road which leads to the trailhead, there could be a lot of traffic at times. But with the Thunder Mountain Trail a mile further down the road, and the Canyon Bike Trail out by Hwy 12, this is a pretty outstanding location.

This was perfect for exploring Bryce! Campground was $10 with $5 for extra vehicle. Fire ring and picnic table, toilet but no sink or water. Doesn’t seem like anyone comes to collect fees or re-up toilet paper too often. Had complete solitude first night. The last day it filled with horse trailers and as it’s designed for storing horses and only has 4 spots, we were kindly asked if we’d mind moving which is understandable. Best part was super flat dirt road to enter only about .5 miles. I have a ‘92 Honda Accord with no 4wd or clearance. Stars are amazing :)
