Overall Rating
Long drive on reasonable dirt road. Low power line prevents large rigs from accessing the camp spot. Road is a bit rough but you can drive a large rig down it. Very few turnaround points.
Great shaded camping with stream. Would only recommend for smaller rigs that are 12ft high at maximum

8 miles drive in on dirt rd up and down side of mountain to get the cow creek entrance. Lack of cell service and gps made it tricky. Another 2 miles through with private land on both sides then open to 5 camp sites. All by the rushing creek, which was beautiful. Tucked down in canyon. All had fire pits. 8 miles drive in on dirt rd up and down side of mountain to get the cow creek entrance. Lack of cell service and gps made it tricky. Another 2 miles through with private land on both sides then open to 5 camp sites. All by the rushing creek, which was beautiful. Tucked down in canyon. All had fire pits. Camped with RTT not sure if we’d get there with trailer. Hammock tenting would be perfect. Worth the trek.

This area is absolutely beautiful! However, to get to it you have to go up 8 miles of winding, dirt roads that get very narrow with a steep drop on one side. This area is absolutely beautiful!
However, to get to it you have to go up 8 miles of winding, dirt roads that get very narrow with a steep drop on one side. If that isn't enough to scare you away, the road is fairly busy and sometimes you meet someone with no room to pass.
Imagine that pulling a 40 ft TT. It got pretty scary at times. I would not do it again, but if I had a tent or small pod camper i would absolutely come up here again.
After 8 miles, of winding roads you enter in to the national forest. We stayed in the first spot we came to. It wasn't level at all but it was breath taking beautiful.
There are 5 other sites we saw in this area. 1 other was big enough to fit a large camper but the other 3 were tent size sites.
