They said they had hurricane 3-4 years ago and still waiting for fema $$. Only 1 bathroom open and it so bad no way I was using it at all. First site we were given electric didn’t work. They said they had hurricane 3-4 years ago and still waiting for fema $$. Only 1 bathroom open and it so bad no way I was using it at all. First site we were given electric didn’t work. Several others we looked at didn’t work. Many sites grills missing. Concrete pads in rough shape. It’s like they can’t do anything you would think they could at least maintain one bathroom. Could be a nice part if they did some maintenance. We met one guy from town who said he is meeting with legislators to get money next week. Said come back in 2 years and it would be better. But even the paved walk along lake was a mess. Leaves and pine needles which were slippery and trash all along lake. Just take a blower and clear path and pick up trash. It’s a shame because could be a nice part. Hopefully they get the $$ they are trying to get

This could be a beautiful campground but it’s sadly neglected and in need of major repairs. The sites closest to the water all need the paved slabs repaired because it would be easy for a rig to slide off. Our trash bin was missing its innards so we took another one. This could be a beautiful campground but it’s sadly neglected and in need of major repairs. The sites closest to the water all need the paved slabs repaired because it would be easy for a rig to slide off. Our trash bin was missing its innards so we took another one. Major ant hills all around. We had planned on staying a few days but left after one day. Also no WiFi. Also narrow entry points to each site.

Overall Rating
$30 nightly full hook-ups, $25 for seniors. Sites 1-7 with full hook-ups and the rest have water and electric. Overviews of the lake. Several campers have their boats so we assume it's good fishing. Staff very helpful and co-operative. Older camp, tight site spacing, but close to urban area of Alexandria, Louisiana.
