The reviews of this campground are all correct. My complaint is with the Management of the Forest for being to lazy to run the park and have done like some other NF and have been sold a bill of goods. This discussion is costing those of us with park passes twice the cost.

The hosts were friendly and doing a great job maintaining the sites. The hookups at each site were in great shape. We enjoyed riding our bikes and relaxing by the fire. There aren’t a lot of trails in the park, but Sipsey Wilderness is nearby with lots of amazing trails. We stayed in Yellowhammer Loop but will try Firefly next time. I honestly don’t know that there’s a bad site in the place. We stopped by Gateway Foods in Double Springs on the way to camp and it’s a well stocked grocery store not far from the campground.

If you are looking to get away and enjoy a quiet weekend, Corinth is the place for you. We stayed in the Yellow Hammer loop, which seemed to have more spacing between sites and more shade.
The sites are level with an asphalt pad and gravel campsite. Each site has full hookups, picnic table, fire pits with a grill and a lantern pole. The bathhouses are dated but overall adequate and clean.
The front gate is not staffed, however there are hosts on duty within the campground and they were attentive and professional.
Because the campground is on a bluff, there is limited lake visibility, however there is lake access and boat launch. There is also a nice swim beach in the day use area.
The one draw back for some may be the distance from town. I would recommend making sure you have the necessities before you arrive.
We definitely plan to stay here again.

Stayed at Corinth in mid-April and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Yellowhammer section which had sites spaced further apart than Firefly and more privacy. The Park is clean, quiet, and is situated in a woodland setting and a lake - although there was no view of the lake from our site. The bathrooms were clean and sanitary. Camp host was friendly and we saw him frequently on his golf cart. We saw a police cruiser one time. We purchased wood from the camp host, a bundle of split pine for $6.00. Pay the host and then pick it up from outside the check-in station. The check-in station was closed the entire time we were there. There is a gate that you must enter a code to get through. We didn't know the code and neither did our friends, but another person did and so we were able to enter. That was kind of strange.
Verizon cell phone service was non-existent. Our friends camped across from us had AT&T and were able to connect.
Camping fees were like nothing I've never seen before:
Electricity Hookup $32.00
Water Hookup $24.00
Camping Use Fee $64.00
Sewer Hookup $24.00
Reservation $8.00
We had a interagency pass and received a 32.00 discount. Total for 4 nights was 130.00.
The campground is located in a very rural area with limited shopping. Double Springs - the closest town- is about 8 to 10 miles away. There are a couple gas stations, a Dollar General, a grocery store, and a mexican food restaurant.

Highly recommend going to Dismals Canyon and Natural Little Bridge (recommended by a local). We had a lot of fun hiking these 2 parks and taking great pictures of the Alabama beauty. We did not expect to see rocky and mossy type of views, as well as calm and clear lake within a walking distance of the campground.
We will definitely visit again! The access is a bit tricky, definitely follow directions/instructions from the campground. We questioned multiple times if we were on our way there, but figured it out pretty quick.

Gorgeous campground in hilly Alabama. We had a lake view site in the Yellowhammer section. A previous review stated the Firefly section was less treed and better suited to bigger rigs needing satellite access. That is true, but Yellowhammer isn’t that tight nor is it really that shady. According to the camp host AT&T is all that works up here and at best you get two bars. Site eleven went back and forth from one to two bars. We had plenty of service for cell calls and email, but any downloading or streaming with an amazon firestick needs to be done in the daytime.
Bicycle riding in Corinth is doable, but not fun for people like me with bad knees. The hills are sometimes a bit too much. But the scenery is really magnificent and we were here when the dogwoods and redbuds were in bloom. A ride down to the swimming beach, picnic area, and pavilion proved beneficial in noting that families most likely very much enjoy this park in the summer. Boaters and fishing people obviously do as well.
Near the entrance to the park there is an old church still in use and built in 1884. Next door is their cemetery and by the looks of the stones recent parishioners are still being buried there. The church is definitely worth the bike ride to have a look.
The price for camping is a bit steep due to their unusual extra charge for electric and sewer. But it was nice to be able to pack up dump at the same location for a necessary early morning quick exit from our site. The campground is a five-star for most people, but only four-star for me because of the lack of sufficient hiking trails and taxing bicycle rides. There was one hike from the campers boat ramp and tent area next to Yellowhammer that ran along the ridge leading to Firefly and back. But Bob the dog prefers more choices of sand and pine covered hiking trails. And so do we.

My wife and I stayed for two days early in October and our travel trailer. There are two loops. We were in the yellow hammer loop. This was the more woodsy and shade loop. The firefly loop was more for the larger RV’s that needed satellite connections etc. The sites were closer together than I would have liked. There was a lot of shade, but you could easily see through the foliage between sites. The biggest disappointment was that the hot water heater wasn’t working in the bath house on our end of the loop, and the men’s shower on the other end of the loop was broken as well. There was a handicap shower that worked, however it was hard to keep all of your stuff dry and off of the floor since there were no benches or hooks to keep your clean clothes from getting splattered on. The lake water was absolutely beautiful, however in the lake level was down about 8 to 10 feet for some reason. This may be something that happens every year at this time of year, I don’t know. However it made the lake look completely different because you saw lots of stumps and dirt around the edge of the lake. You can tell where the usual waterline is and it would be beautiful if the water was up.none of the sites are water front. They are all on a bluff.
Staff was very nice
