Arrived on 4 May for a 10 day stay. Snowing the first few days then the sunshine came out. Drove around exploring the area and sightseeing. Would not want to visit ini the summer when the park is full. Most sites are not level so bring the appropriate hardware for your rig.

We stayed 2 nights in loop L, spot 488. Check in was great, they greet you at your camper and go over everything there. Directions to the site were easy to follow. The weather was forecast to be below freezing and possible snow during our stay, and they even went over tips and tricks to avoid freeze ups. Getting in the site was tight - lots of big rigs and trees - you can see where campers have hit the trees - so you want to be confident of your driving! Our site was level, but I saw others that weren’t so level. It’s a bummer that there are no campfires, especially when you could see the tent sites just a few yards away with blazing fires. It is a great base for exploring the Tetons, and we loved taking multiple walks a day to the beach area to look at the lake and the mountains. If you have slides, be sure to take a ladder and broom because you will have a lot of pine needles to move.

Getting Full Hookups inside one of the greatest National Parks is a huge bonus. All sites are in the trees. Site 504 is the perfect spot. Back corner right across from “Swim Beach.” Easy walk to store and Laundry which was very nice.

Absolutely loved this campground. It’s rare that you can actually stay inside the boundaries of a National Park with full hook-ups. Best campground in all GTNP. (The more “popular” Gros Ventre CG was actually super sketchy and run down. Would have been downright angry if we had booked there.) A one minute walk brings you to the lake edge with amazing views of the Tetons. Long sites that are fairly level (some better than others as the campground slopes downhill and sites run parallel to the slope). An abundance of pine provides nice shade. A bit snug and maneuvering a long rig into each row takes a little experience. Staff was super friendly and check in process went quickly. Didn’t care about shower issue complaints we saw in some reviews because we have an onboard shower and site is FHU. Bathrooms are clean, stocked and warm (came in May). Workers come by and cleaned each site after each move-out. Area was quiet because we came before the larger campground and village opened up. Could imagine something more chaotic in the summer. The drive down into the park is beautiful. Given the park’s size, you have to drive everywhere so it’s location is not a problem. If you came to spend your time in Jackson Hole village or unobstructed sky views for Starlink, you’d be better off staying elsewhere closer to town. Hangout of the famous Grizzly 399 is just a mile away. Wildlife photographers would be very happy with this aspect. Cell service (ATT and Verizon) was just fine for our needs. Sent photos and videos quickly. We came for the park and this campground is ideal. We’ll definitely be back.

I wouldn’t complain but it’s expensive to stay in the park ($100+) which seems too pricey for what you get in this season. Also, I typically use the campground showers but the showers here are an extra $5 which was annoying. During the summer when lakes have thawed and the trails are open, it would be worth the cost.

Saw a fluffy red fox with a big white tail when we drove in. Watched the sunset behind the Tetons down at the lake. A beautiful spot - but too pricey IMHO. We’ve stayed at other beautiful national parks for half that price. Glad we did it but wouldn’t do it again.
And Be Aware - dogs aren’t allowed anywhere except where cars drive. Not dog friendly except in immediate campground area.

It felt like old school camp. The store and ice cream were excellent. We paddled and hiked many of the trails there. It was a great location to visit all of The Grand Teton area. We were able to ride our bikes pretty much all over. Had a few bugs so bring bug spray. Lots of trees, shady over our site so we didn’t get to use Starlink. But phone service for Xfinity was great, always had 4-5 bars 5G.

We have full VerizonLTE service at the beach and 3 bars on the site. AT&T service is just as great as well. The latency isn’t the best by we thought we were coming into almost no service so we will not complain.
The proximity to the beach is incredible with a great view of the mountain range. We got lucky with a 7 night stay last minute less than a week before our start date, so keep checking the site to see if there are any sites that open up last minute.
I read that someone wasn’t able to pick their spot before checking in. We picked beforehand. Maybe it’s the time of year or maybe it’s changed since that review was written.
If you want peace and quiet, this is not the place though. There are a lot of families here with screaming and crying children. I suppose that is expected when it comes to summer time in national parks.
