Can only imagine how much nicer it would have been before the 2020 fire. As a history buff, the logging museum was the bonus; lots of equipment from different eras, along with information on the several original cabins. If we had any qualms, it would be that our site was nowhere near level.

We arrived after dark but had reserved our site online so we just pulled in and set up camp. The next day the hosts, Cathy & Rod, came by with firewood left at another site and then brought kindling so we could have an actual campfire- a rarity for Californians these days. Spring creek that runs alongside the campground is crystal clear and full, even at the end of September. The sites are roomy and so affordable, some with full RV hookups. Crater Lake is 30 miles away and worth the drive. The logging museum was a nice treat within walking distance of the campground. We will be back!

Collier State Park is a very nice full service campground. They have full hookups, tent facilities, and horse facilities as well. Beautiful setting right next to the Williamson River. Nice hikes along the river, and through the forest. Campground has very clean and nice restrooms, showers available and Accessible restrooms/showers available as well. Located right off of Highway 97 between Klamath Falls, Oregon and Chemult, Oregon. About an hour from Diamond Lake Resort, or Crater Lake National Park. Within a very short hike along the river one can access (its is free!) the Collier Logging Museum which is a self touring outdoor museum. Very interesting. Once a year on Father's Day a group operates some of the old time forestry machines for folks to see how they worked! Good fishing located along the Williamson River as well.
Cell service for ATT was spotty as there are lots of trees, we had minimum coverage without a booster.

Nice trail to walk/bike by the Williams river and Spring Creek(which was so big it looks like a river). There were gorgeous, deep, swimming holes in the creek but the water was painfully cold(didn't keep us out though). I observed that many Oregonians had the hoods of their vehicles up and figured "When in Rome...", so glad I put my hood up too, because there are comando ninja chipmunks there! They climbed up the ladder and bike rack and took down our bag of Subway sandwiches that I had briefly hung there. They got into the camper and pooped all over, and they are so bold as to run up your ankle if if you are eating. We did NOT feed them, but they were aggressive little theives. So glad we did not find out what kind of mischief they do in an engine.

We loved the fact that the sites were somewhat spread out and it was so peaceful and quiet. Camp hosts were super nice and stayed busy raking and cleaning up around each site as campers came and went.
We really enjoyed the walking trail that led down to the creek, which was more like a small river this time of year. Following the path onward you can choose to cross over the creek on a cool foot bridge to the Collier Memorial day use area or under Hwy 97 to the free outdoor logging museum just a short distance away. The museum was neat with displays of old logging equipment and cabins/buildings built and used in the old logging days. Definitely worth a stop if you are passing through the area.
Cell service was a bit weak but with our WeBoost booster turned on we were able to work and stream using Verizon. T-Mobile and AT&T were still a bit iffy even boosted.
Unfortunately the campground was completely booked the weekend following our stay, Memorial Day weekend, so we headed over to the Williamson River Campground just next door.
Collier Memorial State Park is on our list of top 5 campgrounds in Oregon and we loved our time spent here. We'll be back next time we're through the area without a doubt.

There wasn't any sort of check-in when we arrived, we went straight to our site that had a reserved tag on it. The campground was open as of the first of May for first come first serve, and reservations started on the 15th, had we known we could show up a few days earlier we would have.
There are also quite a few trails but only had a chance to walk on the one closest to the campground.

Pristine pine forests and mountain streams, what's not to like? Whether you're a fan of world-class fishing or not, Collier is the park for you. 30 miles north of Klamath on Route 97, Collier's small double loop is nestled between Spring Creek and Williams River. Across the highway, accessible on foot via a trail, is an open air logging museum, good for an hour's infotainment.
Collier is also an excellent spot for visiting Crater Lake, 30 miles up the road. A must-see for sure.
But most of all, Collier is the perfect spot for getting away from it all, and enjoying some peace and quiet.

There are no laundry facilities here. The amenities section below and the website https://www.oregonsbestcamping.com/ says it does but we're here and there are none. If they did, that would be the first State Park we've seen with laundry facilities, though they do have 50A, water, and sewer which is nicer than most.

OR State Parks website says this park is closed until mid-2022 for repairs following a fire.
