I stayed on a Tuesday and Wednesday night and was the only one in the campground. Very clean pit toilet and water available. Table and fire ring at each site. There are only 5 sites. A 2.5mi (one way) hike goes to beautiful Mosquito Lake. It was a bit buggy with mosquitoes.

the area is actually just west of Yampa, so not close to Meeker at all. There are only 5 spaces available at this campground but along the road up to the reservoir, there are many spots and still some available late on Friday and Saturday. Bear Lake Campground was wide open on Friday afternoon. It is lovely as well but doesn't have the views that Cold Springs has. We have a 24' camper and had no problem backing in to site #5. Site #1 was a pull through for a larger camper, and the other 3 are smaller. The waterfall/spring going into the fresh pond was beautiful and although mosquitos were definitely present, body spray kept them at bay for the most part. Fishing in the pond was a fun experience. Lots of families even ones not staying at the campground came around to bring children to fish. Stocked with trout. Hiking all around, no cell service.
