We stayed here for two nights on our way north. We loved it. The sites are spacious with unique touches such as carved wooden benches by the fire pit. Great location for exploring Freeport. We stayed here for two nights on our way north. We loved it. The sites are spacious with unique touches such as carved wooden benches by the fire pit. Great location for exploring Freeport. There are full hook ups and some sites with water & electric only. They have dish washing stations and privies throughout. There are sweet wood carvings, a screened gazebo, and swing benches around the campground - a very nice touch. Great value.

We had a pull through (site #2) and it was an easy check in. The pull through sites are a little tight and we could not extend fully one of our awnings.The map given to us and online is a little misleading. Our site was shown on the map as 30 amp but it was a 50 amp. The map also shows that some sites have cable but the campground does... more
We had a pull through (site #2) and it was an easy check in. The pull through sites are a little tight and we could not extend fully one of our awnings.The map given to us and online is a little misleading. Our site was shown on the map as 30 amp but it was a 50 amp. The map also shows that some sites have cable but the campground does not have cable. If you have a satellite dish, it will be challenging to get a signal because of the trees. We were able to get about 35 over-the-air tv channels and the WiFi worked fairly well with slight buffering. The campground had a lot of traffic because we were near the entrance but it was still quiet. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Freeport and 25 minutes from Portland. There is a game room with a pool table (missing some balls), air hockey (didn’t turn on), and a foosball table. The game room needs some work. There’s also a small pond that has kayaks and paddle boats. It was overall a nice campground and we would stay here again.

Cedar Haven was one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at. As some have mentioned, we don’t have kids but this is definitely a kid/family friendly park with a playground, game room, basketball court, volleyball court, etc. We were there in October so the colors of the trees were gorgeous! Cedar Haven was one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at. As some have mentioned, we don’t have kids but this is definitely a kid/family friendly park with a playground, game room, basketball court, volleyball court, etc. We were there in October so the colors of the trees were gorgeous! The bathrooms and showers were kept clean. The dish washing station and dog washing station were a nice unique touch. The lots weren’t huge but not terribly close to each other - we had plenty of space for our two slide outs and awning. Wi-fi was basically useless, as is the case in most campgrounds, but cell service was really good. We have Verizon and we consistently had 3-4 bars of LTE. Very friendly staff and beautiful campground all around, would definitely recommend and will definitely go back!

We are here without kids but it would be a great campground for families with children. There are lots of things to entertain them. For us adults the site we have is small and level but works well. There are lots of larger sites in the rear of the campground for larger rv’s. The bath house and showers were very clean.

We had no idea how kid friendly this campground was. If your in the row by the park you can sit at your site and watch your kids swing on the tree swings, play at playground, ride bike or scooter or play basketball on court. We had no idea how kid friendly this campground was. If your in the row by the park you can sit at your site and watch your kids swing on the tree swings, play at playground, ride bike or scooter or play basketball on court. Watch them ohhh and ahhh at the frogs the size of my hand at the frog pond then when you are ready take them over to the pond for kayaking or paddle canoe. They have incredible bear carvings from trees and a free shuttle into Freeport.
Enjoy your stay at this Christian owned and operated family camp. We loved it here!

We were in neighboring sites with our friends and had a great time. There were four young kids between the two families who had a ton of fun riding bikes, using the playground, and chasing frogs.
We found the price reasonable and the staff very helpful. The grounds were very clean, and well maintained.
If you’re looking to spend time in Freeport, or at Wolfe’s Neck State Park, we highly recommend this place.

Pulled in to find out that pull through site 2 that we had reserved was unavailable because they were laying cable near the entrance. As we checked in at the office we found out they had moved us to an equivalent pull through site with FHUs, site 42, and we were glad they did. We had booked site 2 up by the front due to campground (CG)... more
Pulled in to find out that pull through site 2 that we had reserved was unavailable because they were laying cable near the entrance. As we checked in at the office we found out they had moved us to an equivalent pull through site with FHUs, site 42, and we were glad they did. We had booked site 2 up by the front due to campground (CG) reviews stating the back area was tight due to trees, which was somewhat true but manageable for our 39’ fifth wheel. We were there mid week, the first week of October to visit LL Bean so the CG was pretty much empty making our first visit here outstanding. We really liked how the camp sites were laid out in a forest setting, much like a state or national park. However, we considered the sites to be either nearby or very close depending on which site you got. For example, site 42 had room out our front door up the hill to a rental trailer site. Site 43 was near by to our right, had a trailer been in that site the rear of that trailer would have lined up with the rear of our trailer. The site on our utilities side was very close. We would not want to be here during the major Spring-Summer season because we suspect it would be very crowded. This would also make for tight turns around trees and vehicles. We had to alter the normal departure route to the right due to one of the seasonal residents (most of these sites were near the front of the CG) parking a vehicle on a corner. We got a lot of OTA channels, WiFi was way above average, 3 bars Verizon and no bars AT&T. The CG WiFi was very good. Other than the pull throughs up front, I would be cautious bringing in a rig larger than 36’ into the interior sites during peak season. The back area of the campground has a large wooden fence that separates the campground from residential houses but you would not know they are there. There’s a trail out the back of site 58 that goes for a long distance through the woods, we walked our dogs and turned around a mile out to head back.

Made the decision to stay here last minute. Originally planned to stay at Bradbury Mountain State Park, but then decided we did not want to dry camp with no dump station. Cedar Haven is a very cute, smaller campground with some nice amenities. They have a small pond with kayaks and paddle boats for use, a dog washing station, a lovely play ground area for kids and a nicely laid out camp office with store. Sites are mostly wooded, some larger than others. Choose wisely based on the map. Some sites are close together. Overall, a very nice campground with a definite family friendly feel. Quiet (perhaps because not at full capacity due to COVID-19). Good base camp for exploring Freeport and the surrounding area. Freeport ships only 5 minutes away - but feels like you’re in a different area.

We stayed here in Aug 2016 and the $48 price includes some taxes and was for full hook-ups.
This quiet private campground has wooded sites that are close together. We were in a back-in section on the end with no one beside us. That made our site feel bigger. If someone had been next to us their fire pit and picnic table would have been very close to our trailer and our sewer line. But as it was we were comfortable. There is a section of pull thru sites that can accommodate large Class A RVs and large 5th wheels. A third section was for tent camping. Those sites were spaced out better and a little more private. There was also a couple lean-to sites and a camping cabin. Maybe 3 RVs appeared to be there full time, but I think they were work campers.
The campground was easy to get to from I295 but far enough away that we didn't hear traffic noise. It is near the Freeport LLBean outlet. When we arrived we were given a "Welcome Packet" which included useful things like a Maine road map (remember paper maps?) Fliers for local tourist activities were included. It also had a couple religious tracts.
The campground has a small camp store with very basic things you might have forgotten or run out of. It also sells firewood.
Activities included a "swim" pond (that I wouldn't want to swim in) with paddle boats and two kayaks. The pond was very small but our 11 year old had a blast on and off kayaks all evening. There is also a playground for little kids, sand volleyball, basketball hoops, tether ball, and a rec room with a pool table, foosball, and air hockey. No additional charge for any of these activities.
There is a laundry room with washers for $1.50 and dryers for $1. The bathhouse included hot showers and was one of the cleanest bathhouses we've seen. They also posted the cleaning/closure time which I find helpful.
Campground WiFi showed up but we couldn't stay connected. I had 3 bars of 4G on my Verizon phone.

Very unique campground, kid friendly and each campsite had a couch craved out of a tree. Wish I would have known about the "water boil" requirement. We had plenty of on board water for our two night stay.
