There are a lot of loud semi trucks cutting through the mountain pass and the noise echos off the canyon walls up until 10 at night. C04 looks over the creek, but there wasn't any water in it in that location. The site also required blocks even with auto-levelers. I honestly think that part of our crummy experience also had to do with 2 moms with a group of squealing kids (happy screams, but still) until 10:30 at night!

But it is 2400 feet higher and cooled down to 46 degrees overnight. And it is beautiful. Huge mixed forest, level pads, fairly new picnic tables and fire rings with gravel pull outs.
We drove right by the campground initially as there are no signs on the highway alerting. In turning around, up the road a little ways, we noticed a couple spots where dispersed camping may be permissible if campground full.

Don’t miss the turn!! It is the first left (less than 1/4 mile) after the Dixie National Forest sign.
We won’t stay again just because there is NOTHING in the area to do and while evenings and mornings at camp were peaceful, we were BORED during the day.

The sites are far apart so you aren’t on top of your neighbors. Pine trees provide shade. The place could use a little work but still wasn’t too bad. It’s close to the road but the road noise wasn’t noticeable at night. The tent pad wasn’t level and was simply dirt. Bathrooms far apart. Still a peaceful enough campground.

I have camped in this campground before. It is nice! It is close to the road so there is road noise, but the sound of the nearby creek is calming.
This campground is great for short stay, such as when you are traveling from park to park.

We were tired & we’re going to stay somewhere else but time got away from us & we found this little gem in the forest. This campground is closed for season but still allows camping. There is really NO spot big enough for us (41 ft MH) but we had one end completely to ourselves so we wedged our way sideways in a slot & it worked great for one night. They had snow on the ground from the day before but roads were dry. This campground is extremely close to the highway & the road noise is constantly all day & night.
We would probably pick somewhere else next time but only because we ARE to big 🤭

I stayed in site #17. Campsite is down 6 large steps to the table, fire ring. I'd pick a different site if I hadn't reserved it first. Sites #1 - 14 more level. Dumpster, vault toilet next to my site. Vault toilets were very clean. Water is not turned on yet. They are still testing it. There are many double sites. Senior Pass, etc ok to use except double sites. Camp host is in #16. Looks like he has lived there for years. He has been host for 13 years. Lots of noise from them working work on a SUV with another guy. Non-stop loud talking but the friendliest guy ever. Small creek flows along between highway and campsites. Highway is visible from most sites and is very loud. Almost no traffic at night. Lots of pine and aspen for shade. Lot of deer in tbe morning and evening. About 20-30 minutes from Cedar City and I-15
