Lovely little spot. The Caverns of Sonora was absolutely stunning! A must see if you’re anywhere near the area. It does take just under 2 hours to tour. Little to No cell service. $15 a night for boondocking.

This was our first time staying here. What a nice campground. Very quiet and peaceful here.
The caverns were pretty great. Unlike any other caves I have been to.
The wildflowers were blooming as well. I will try to upload some with this review.

Love this spot. Friendly staff, clean showers and great shop for souvenirs. Best part is that it’s away from traffic, noise and crowds. Quiet, beautiful birds and peaceful. Our go to in this part of Texas

On our way to San Antonio we saw the billboard on the side of the highway I10 for the Caverns of Sonora and decided to stop, because we love cave tours. It is just a short drive off of I10 on a paved road. The campground was nice, flat and easily accessible. Quite a few pull throughs. In the morning we did the first tour of the day of the caves. It was AMAZING. I highly recommend it.

First come first served for the RV park, go to the candy counter in the gift shop to take care of the space assignment and fees. Recommend taking the short walk down and checking out your space before driving your rig into the RV park area. We were assigned an occupied space, however with a quick walk back to the office and a brief conversation with a staff member, we quickly resolved the issue by getting a different spot assigned. The walk down will also help you scope out the space as the space numbers are the backside of the power/water posts.
The pull thru sites were long enough to comfortably fit our 50' rig. The spaces themselves are basic...water and electric only; no dump station on site, however the nearby I-10 rest stops have dump stations. The spots themselves are hard packed gravel and relatively level, we only needed to make minor adjustments to be comfortable during our stay. The tent camping area has picnic tables and a few grills, however don't expect to find those in the RV area as only one or two of the sites have them. The price is reasonable ($25 a night), so it's hard to get too upset. If you pay with a credit card, expect to pay a 4% transaction fee as they are passing that cost on to the card holder.
The bathhouses and showers are a bit dated, but clean and functional. The cave tour is interesting and the best reason for stopping here for a night or two. It's quiet, so if you're looking for peaceful nights, this might be a good stop for you.

I forgot to test the actual speeds, but on Verizon I had barely 1 bar — couldn’t even make a consistent call (kept dropping), so don’t expect to be able to work from here. On AT&T, with an antenna plugged into the hotspot, it was minimally better, but still only 1 bar and not strong enough for a webinar or video call. Would need to drive into town for that (~10 minutes).
Stars were beautiful at night!! Very little light polution here.

As I arrived I found 2 other rigs that I was put next to in the empty park however for $25 for a space with electric, water and decent restrooms/showers what can one really expect? Much better then one I found in the city center, Country… something. The town itself is pretty neglected and past it’s hay day.
