After reading reviews for Vandenberg FamCamp we decided to give Camp SLO a go and we weren’t disappointed! This is a well kept small 12 FHU sites $31/night with tent camping $10/night. We have enjoyed most Military installation RV camps and as for small ones this is a great option. Bill the camp host works hard at keeping the grass mowed and sites clean. There is a small exchange down the street and the laundry across from the exchange $1.50 wash 0.50 dry I think 45 minutes. Great place!! Halfway between SLO and Morro Bay.

This is a small park with 12 RV spots and dry, overflow parking. There is a separate gate for large vehicles. The guard came over, checked ids and let us in. We checked in at billeting, got our spot and proceeded to the campground. We were in site 10, in the second lane which was a tight turn for our 40' RV into our site. I had to go up on the site behind us to be able to make the turn. There isn't much for kids to do here. Even riding their bikes around, they have to have an adult with them under the age of 16. Not very kid friendly.
We were raided by ants inside our rig the first night. They were in the bathroom, pantry, kids room, etc. All they found was an halfway closed jar of peanut butter, but that didn't stop them from exploring.
Close to Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. There's a dog park at Morro Bay if you bring a dog. They are allowed to run free there.
Campground is full hookup. No issue with utilities. Staff was pleasant.
With Starlink we received 85 down and 5 up. Verizon was 5 bars and AT&T was 5 bars with our cell antenna (3 bars Verizon on cell phones).

My wife and I have been staying here for the last week or so, still have a few more days here. Needed a place to recover from knee surgery and visit our kids and grandkids in SLO. 12-Sites with Water, Electric and Sewage. Nicely maintained showers, picnic table and fire ring in every site. Overflow camping as well (dry camping). Access to veterans and active duty personnel; visit website for more details.
Level, gravel sites with grass between sites. Roomy sites, you don’t feel like you are camping with your neighbor. Most of the time the campground has been less than 50% full. Quiet setting, no bright street lights, Coffee Shop/Sandwich shop within walking distance, access to the camp Dining Facility all meals less than $10 per person. Any size RV will easily fit on any site. Dump station also located at campsite.
