The campground has been upgraded with more paved sites. Appears drainage is better than in past. 50 amp site was $40.50 With Good Sam discount. I love the cheesiness of South of the Border and look forward to my stays each time. Close to the interstate, but you don’t hear a lot of road noise.

Pull through site was plenty long for our truck and trailer. Road noise not too bad and I felt pretty safe within the gated campground. Will not hesitant to stay here again in the future. They also offer military discount which brought the total to around $44.00.

There is not much shade in this section. I arrived in the afternoon on a 95 degree day and it took a good bit of time for my AC to cool off the camper. There seemed to be another section further back that looked full but I did not explore that area. Overall, it was quiet and my only complaint was the lack of shade - make sure to ask for a site with shade if you are traveling during hot weather. I might stay there again mostly because it is exactly 1/2 way to my final destination.

If it is rainy, pick your spot carefully. Some spots can flood. It has plenty of pull through spots. You can get satellite at most spots. Walk across the road to take in the tourist area. The hat has an elevator to the top for about $2 each. Great view. The steakhouse provides good eating. There are a number of diners and restaurants nearby.
You never sausage a place!

When hubby said we were staying here I was concerned and expected a neon lit up gravel parking lot. It was so much better.
We actually stayed here twice this summer. Both times we just wanted a place to sleep with hook-ups for AC. For this need, the campground was perfect. This is not a campground we would stay at long term, but a safe place to sleep along Interstate 95. The campground is tucked behind all the stores and nights. It is gated and you receive a key card to access the campground. There are several bath houses which have lights at night and the site numbers are lit at night. Other than that the campground is dark and lights of the South of the Border "strip" are not bothersome in the campground.
There are many long pull through sites. Some back in sites and tent camping are also available. Sites are paved with electricity and water. There is a dump station available. Between sites there is a grassy strip with a picnic table. There isn't privacy between sites. Camping gives you access to a pool at the motel, we didn't use it. Also, there is laundry available, we didn't use that either. Bath house was painted cement block and not at all fancy, but was clean and had a hot shower.
There is campground wifi which worked during our first stop, but not our second stop.
We would stay here again as a place to sleep with hook-ups for AC.
If you arrive after the campground office closes go to the motel to check in.
