You can reserve a site on rec.gov. About half the sites are first come first serve, which is what we did. See the picture where I wrote in which ones these are, but they're the ones that aren't on rec.gov. The only site that is not level is #6. It has a bad lean in two directions. Ours, #7, had the most privacy, I think. Nice level paved sites. Picnic table, fire ring. The campground host, Dewey, mowed on Thursday and Friday. This should last a while, as it is super dry and the grass is crispy. The sites have lots of space, though. There are a couple of spigots with thread ons, if you need to fill your tank. I don't know where you could dump.
We arrived the Tuesday before Memorial Day. It was basically empty until Friday, when the campground filled up around noon. It was full Friday and Saturday, and people started leaving on Sunday. People were either doing river trips or ORV stuff.
It's close to town, but it's not much of a town. We did a day trip to Ludington, which was a good trip.
The cell service started off as not bad for second tier Verizon customer, but went to nothing once the area got packed for the weekend. Nothing on T-Mobile.

We stayed here 5 nights and the place exceeded our expectations! Trout fishing, national scenic Pere Marquette river and a short spur trail to the North Country Trail. 16 Sites in an fairly open field, which was great for us as we need to use our solar panels to top of our batteries! 4 group sites also. Cleanest vault toilets we’ve ever had seen! Camp host has wood and ice. Try to use coordinates when mapping to get here-we just typed in Bowman Bridge Campground and Siri sent us to somebody’s driveway about 7 miles (as the crow flies) off course. They graciously gave us directions to the campground.

I was going to Sulak Campground but the road was closed and it was getting dark so I stayed here. Small campground with paved pads. It's run by American Land and Leisure and has a camp host. All but 5 sites are reservable. It has a clean pit toilet, cleanest I've seen in a long time and treated so It did not smell. There is water available but not in the sites. It looked like the camp host has ice and firewood available. Some of the sites were a little open and there was some road noise and I did hear a train in the night but overall a great campsite.

This is a nice camp ground out of the way. You can hear some traffic, not bad. Great area. Bad Verizon Cell service for internet. You can make a call. Nice pads. Wood and Ice on location.

There are 17 sites on the campgrounds, There is both access and plenty of fishing areas nearby. It was quiet and very clean and well-kept, we would camp there again in a heartbeat. There’s no cell service except for Verizon and that was only for voice and occasionally a text will go through. As a final note, the federal Forest Service Agent that patrols this area is a stickler for the rules, so make sure you are abiding by the rules and regs of the forest service or he will fine you.
