This location is just fantastic. The Yankee Fork of the Salmon River flows by, and you are just a few miles from the dredge museum and historic Custer park.
There are no hook-ups or cellular service. There is a maintained vault restroom. The babble of the passing river below the campsites provides excellent white noise where it’s not needed. Our total rig length is 50’ and we would have fit in only 2 of the 5 spaces. We were fortunate that both were open.
Payment is by drop box. $5 - my wife has a senior lifetime pass so it cut the rate to the ridiculously low $2.50 per night.
Other than the lights from some campers who had the need to have ground level lights on (theoretical rodent detracting effort), the skies were dark. The campground is 1/2 mile north of the central Idaho Dark Sky zone - and without the moon he Milky Way was clearly visible.
We were only staying for one night, but decided the next morning to re-up for another night. If we did not have a fixed return date, we easily could have spent several more nights at this campground.
The pads are fairly level, with pea gravel and dirt making up the base. Fires in the fire rings were allowed. There is a picnic table per site, with site two having two. Three sites have access to the river below.
This campground is 1/2 mile from the main highway on the right. You will be past the sign before you know it, as it is parallel to the road.
Nearest resources are in Stanley, about 13 miles away. Strong cellular service up the hill at the town park near the airport, which is at the same level as the fake tree cell tower.
S & P Martinez would stay here again

We were camping up in Stanley but looking for places along Highway 75 to camp on our way up north.
When we drove into this park, despite having reservations in Stanley, we almost considered moving here for a couple days instead. It is absolutely beautiful and situated right on the river.
The road up to the campground is newly paved and the spaces within this campground are spacious. We would have no issue pulling our 30' trailer here. There was no one there when we drove through mid week in mid June.
I'm not sure why it's only $5 a night either when the other two campgrounds up the road are $10 and further away, bonus!!
No cell service on any provider.

“Tiny and quaint campground”

Not many spaces, but the scenery is great. The campground itself is tiny, but there is room for big rigs. Very near the roadways, so expect some noise.
No cell to speak of
