“Absolutely fine for a quick overnight”

For a late night pull in and an early morning departure, this is absolutely fine. It was quiet (only one other RV there apart from us) and had wide flat ground.

Looks like the gravel pit is fairly active with a lot of equipment in the yard we were here on a Friday night into Saturday morning no traffic but the road looks heavily used.
We parked on the entry road had a great view of the sunset.
Not sure how long this one will be available.

“It's a storage lot for road construction equipment now”

The gravel lot is accessible and it's probably okay to stay there, but at this point it very much seems to be a dedicated lot for storing road construction equipment. Not exactly what I'm looking for in a camping spot.

This was a convenient set-up while we explored the surrounding area. Easy, flat and free. Close to Blanding, the near by town. Surprisingly clean for a gravel pit. Great ATT signal for wifi.

This was a great stopover for the evening with great cell service. We took our Jeep and ran down to Valley of the Gods from here and did Moki Dugway. With cell service hit or miss in Valley of the Gods, it made things stress free to base from here.
We also checked out the Patio Diner in Blanding. Knocked off all the things to see in 1 day.

Who would have thought a gravel pit would be a place to camp? Awesome views, pretty level places, wide open space, and dark skies at night!

What a pleasant surprise. This large and easy area was a perfect stopover on our way north through Utah. Easy to get into for any size rig, quiet and large enough to spread out. Only a couple other Class A’s here. Gorgeous view of the snow capped mountains. Good Verizon and decent enough AT&T. Keep this place in your back pocket for st... more

This is just a place to spend the night. No services, but we were desperate for sleep. We pulled in at 9:00 pm. There are no lights, so we loved the dark sky, and it was soo quiet! Until 4:30 when the trucks rolled in. So, my advice is be prepared to move out early and enjoy your quiet night. Plus it was free.
