A great spot with trails leading directly to the tower. You can hike from camp up and around the tower in under 4 miles if you take the long route on the red banks trail. And I would because the views from all around the camp and the area are worth the hike. Good bathrooms and all is well maintained by the NPS.

This campground is ideal for a visit to Devils Tower. Sites are gravel, pull-through, and available on a first come, first serve basis. Drive around until you find a site, set up, then self-register at the front. We had no trouble getting a great site on a Friday in mid-June, but we arrived early (11:30). The campground seemed relatively full by Friday evening. Most people only stay one night so there is plenty of turnover every day. Our site was well-maintained and perfectly level, a nice surprise. The loop road is also pretty well maintained and access was easy, even for large rigs. Water is available in the campground, but the bathhouse has only toilets, no showers. Some sites have direct views of the tower and others are blocked by trees, but it's a short walk to the beginning of the trail out of the campground to get unobstructed views. The trail from the CG to the visitor center is about 1.3 miles, the first half through prairie dog towns but the second half includes a lot of elevation increase. In addition to the prairie dog town next to the campground, we enjoyed seeing deer, lots of birds, and bison and longhorns on the nearby private land. Come with all your food, etc. since there is not much in the immediate vicinity, other than the store at the KOA just outside the entrance to the monument. I'd give this a fifth star if showers were available.

$20 without senior pass. We saw white tail deer, snakes (rattle, gopher, and ?), prairie dogs... Good size sites but no privacy. No hookups... Pleasant host and lots of "ranger" programs. June is voluntary climb ban in respect for the Native Americans who are celebrating the solstice. (Still a few climbers) all the trails are open.

Views of the tower are plentiful. The prairie dog town is right next door as is the Belle Fourche River.

The $20 fee is half price for those holding senior passes.

We have the annual pass to the parks, but it is still $20/night. Little spendy for no hookups, but I suppose it's in line with most National Park campgrounds (i.e. you are paying for location, not amenities). The restroom has flush toilets and a dish rinsing sink, but didn't have hot water. Not much amenities beyond that.
For us, it was a great convenient stay for checking out Devil's Tower, but a little spendy for what it is. 2 nights was perfect for us to see what we wanted.

We decided last minute to stay here on our way to Glacier. We hit Mt. Rushmore in the morning and then headed to Devils Tower. This place is amazing! The trail around the tower is a must. We were traveling the last week in August and arrived around 5pm. We hustled around the two CG loops looking for sites. The only sites left were handicapped so we were able to snag one of these.
If your site doesn't have a direct view of the tower, you can probably walk 25 ft in any direction to get a view. The CG is nestled in a grove of some really big trees...Great for shade and cool to look at, but they do obscure the view. As others mentioned, no water, power, showers or dump station. There's a rest area on the interstate near the pull off of Devils Tower that has free dump station.

With just a week left before the park closes the campground for the season we decided to check it out. Great views of the tower. None of the sites have electric and the water is already off for the season but the rest area in Sundance offered a free dump station and clean water fill up so we came prepared. Hubby works remotely so cell coverage is a must. Verizon LTE 3-4 throughout the park. $20 for the site, $15 park entrance. Pricey but works for our needs. We are indeed happy campers hoping for no 👽 encounters.

Devil's Tower is literally right out your window. $20, $10 with a National Parks pass. Nice bathrooms, no showers. No cell service or sewer, there is potable water. Lovely park-like setting with both open and shaded spots. And did I mention Devil's Tower is right *there*?

If you park on the eastern edge of Loop B, you will see deer in the morning on the other side of the river.
So ditto for what everyone else said. If you can comfortably dry camp, this place is wonderful. FYI...generator hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. We didn't hear many generators running.
No over the air television. Verizon was 3 bars of 4G.
