Large, well spaced sites, but no privacy. All park roads are paved single lane and therefore one-way. Pull-throughs are a bit of a severe angle considering they're a good length. Maneuvering Big Rig or larger trailer on roads and at these sites requires paying good attention to avoid contributing to the many mud spots and grass damage throughout the park caused by those who don't. RV sites are paved and level. There are a few ADA sites as well. And there were low enough branches on our site to drag the roof. Not hard enough to cause damage, but once they were wet from the rain they came down and let us listen to them sweeping the roof. Didn't see that at other sites. Several sites had large puddles that would make them undesirable when it rains, which is often in winter of course. The primary park path also has many, many puddles when it rains. Time for some significant trail maintenance here.
Office was closed during our stay but self check-in is easy and hosts are friendly. Firewood for sale by hosts and local wood use requested for disease control. Ranger lives on-site as well. FHU sites with picnic table and fire-ring, 20&30 amp only, and water is off in winter. On-site dump station has both rinse and potable water available year-round. As with all WA state campgrounds we've experienced, park was very clean. Although we didn't need them, restroom and showers passed inspection by the boss-lady. We didn't bother with the SAT this trip, but the Sat Finder app indicated a clear shot. We used the state parks website for rez and it is a good for site details and pics. Price paid is for Off-Season Senior Pass. It's also a Day-Use park with a small playground, several group spots and a large field. With close proximity to many nearby small towns, it's gonna be plenty busy in summer months. Licensed shell fishing is easy here in season.
We'll be back!

There are so many great state parks in Washington to explore and I’m trying to hit up as many as I can. This time out, I decide to take a ferry and head over to Belfair Washington and Belfair State Park.
This park is located West of Seattle and you can get there by driving around the water or in this case taking the ferry over. I’ll have more on that in an upcoming video, but I will say the trip over the water was beautiful.
As for Belfair State Park once I got there, my spot was absolutely gorgeous and one I can totally recommend!
Here’s the 411 on the trip:
A short trip this time, but won’t be the next. For the 1 night after taxes it worked out to be $45.00 dollars
I stayed in site #155… The site was easy to get into, close to one of the bath houses and an amazing view at the back of the site, looking over water.
Cell service was great. I was able to use my phone all trip. I have AT&T.
The facilities: The park has 90 standard campsites, 41 full hookup sites, 2 primitive sites, a dump station, three restrooms, and 8 showers. Maximum site length is 60 feet (limited availability).
Campsites are reservable between May 15 - Sept. 15
I was easily able to book my reservation online at: https://washington.goingtocamp.com/
According the website:
“Located on Hood Canal between Shelton and Bremerton, the park's gentle breezes offer ideal conditions for kite-flying, windsurfing and kicking back on a warm summer day. Anglers can choose from fresh and saltwater fishing, and kayakers can push off onto the Cascadia Marine Trail and explore the Puget Sound waterways.”

Made an early spring break getaway. Thanks to terrible weather we had a lot of the campground to ourselves for the first 2 days. On the 3rd day the sun showed up and so did the crowd. Rangers and Camp Hosts were engaging and friendly. Slight flooding due to the weather, extremely clean facilities and park!

We were able to jump on a cancellation during a rainy weekend and scored one of the illusive Beach view sites (T20). We had a literal monsoon come through while we were there and flooded our site out (3-4 inches of standing water), but the views we had were worth it. The beach sites are the ones to get as they have bigger sites, but some of them are bundles of 3 sites together. The other loops looked to be more wooded and some of them are right on the backside of the highway. Overall a great park if you can get down on the beach loop and during September it was very popular for shellfishing at low tide (oysters/ clams). We had a great time and cant wait to come back. We also filmed a couple of video's here for our Youtube channel including a modified site by site review of most the campground. - Unique Adventurez

Big park with shallow water swimming area. Our site was noisy from the highway and we had really noisy neighbors. Our site was full hookup. Womens bathroom was always dirty, shower was disgusting. Mens was much better. Not too much to do in the park.

The park itself is well spaced out and there is a decent amount of privacy. Don't come for sandy beach walks though. The park is on hood canal so no sandy beaches here. We would recommend anyone add this to their list. I would be cautious about a summer rental, I suspect it maybe a bit louder and busy then.

The family really enjoyed our relaxing stay here in early December. Our site was a water front pull through with full hookups. These sites are reservable and go fairly quick all year round but the other sites on the beach loop are nice also. We stopped by this park earlier in summer time to dump our tanks and the place was packed full and now I understand why. It would be a great place to play in the Summer. Apparently there is a good Salmon run here up the creek in early fall. The eagles where still eating leftover Salmon in December. Some sites seemed to have taller drain connections for some reason. This could cause some minor issues for some. The park seems very clean and well taken care by staff.

This was our very first getaway with our new molded fiberglass travel trailer, Toto. We made our way to Belfair State Park, which lies at the bitter end of the Hood Canal -- about an hour away from Tacoma, WA.
This time of year (November) you can't reserve campsites at most Washington State Parks, including this one -- you just show up and hope you find something you like.
There's a loop of sites, near the water, that (mostly) have full hookups. All the pull-through sites were taken, so we had to back in... good practice but we had wanted to keep this first outing as simple as possible. Oh well, we found a site, I backed in in only 1.5 tries, and we didn't hit or run over anything.
And only minutes later, we were relaxing with a view of the canal. We liked this park enough to want to come back in the warmer weather, and bring a kayak or two -- especially if we could snag a waterfront site. So I kept an eye on the calendar and we have a waterfront (pull-through!) site reserved for a few days in August.
I am told that it gets pretty lively there in summer... noisy powerboats, noisy canine and humanoid creatures. Maybe we'll take earplugs.
EDIT: We did return in August, and it was a lot of fun. But it is a lot more lively, and you have to be okay with being in a busy park full of kids of all ages having fun and making a bit of noise. Waterfront site essential in summer, to stay on the edge of the fray.
In the wintertime, at least, Belfair is a lovely spot. Spotless, plenty of birds to observe, and ideal if you get a break in the weather. Verizon coverage? Yes, but minimal. Bring a booster or, better yet, go off the grid and commune with nature.
