For an assortment of reasons, we had no luck trying to stay at 3 campgrounds/provincial parks. We were tired and this campground was a blessing. The after hours checkin worked great and the hosts were helpful and friendly. We didn't do much besides sleep but campground looked clean and neat.

Located on the banks of the Bear River in Stewart, Bear River RV Park is lovely. The grounds are pretty natural, and, at this season, there are wildflowers everywhere. The views of the mountains around town are breathtaking. The camp host was friendly, knowledgeable and competent, so checking in was a breeze. There was a little confusion in making the reservation, but we got through that without a lot of trouble. Probably easier to call then to use email.
The park was quiet, and our site, #9 back-in, was pretty level, hard gravel base and grass between spaces. I was impressed because, although it rained the whole time we were there, there was absolutely no mud. We had a picnic table and a fire pit. The only issue is that the utilities are on a shared pole with a giant rock separating them. We're not very good backers, so it took a little while.
The park has showers, laundry, bathrooms and a dump station, which we did not use.

This campground is well run (the owners were super kind and helpful), well maintained (clean, new gravel, landscaped nicely), close to town and right next to the river. It’s a great spot to enjoy Stewart if you’re looking for amenities. The bathrooms and laundry are super clean. The showers are a bit tight and cost $1 for 4 minutes. The women’s showers have colored lights in the shower heads so you kind of get a disco party with your shower…so that’s something 🪩🕺The trail by the river (accessible from the campground) is gorgeous for a run or walk. Would definitely recommend.

Next year will tell the tale.
Bike ride distance to bear viewing in Alaska, we will come again. They just barely reopened this year but the place was still well maintained by two loving owners. I wish them luck
If not for the truck traffic supporting road construction and the gold mine operations down the road the place is perfect.

Site 27 was one of the few single sites, rather than paired at a pedestal, so it was relatively private. Nice park with plenty of trees. I rated low on noise due to current construction along nearby river bank, but once completed, it should be peaceful here. WiFi unavailabile at this site.

Traveling South through Yukon, British Columbia, and a side trip to Hyder, Alaska
