Overall Rating

Bear Ridge is a nice campground. The staff is friendly. The pool is lovely and there are a couple of playgrounds for kids. The lake is small but pretty and the views are nice. The sites aren't completely level, as the stones on the site had shifted from previous RVs but it wasn't too bad. Each site had a picnic table and a fire ring.

The biggest issue was the complete lack of WiFi or Verizon cell service. I was told by another camper that the the owners paid for StarLink service but so far StarLink hadn't made it work reliably. Another camper had T-Mobile and she had service but our Verizon was either no bars or "SOS". Once in a while a one bar popped up for about 30 seconds and a text message came through but it would disappear. We can live without WiFi for a few days, but there were storms predicted and we were uncomfortable not being able to get weather updates. One day we drove to the Kittanning Public Library to use their WiFi.

The quiet hours start at 11pm. Several of the campers had "side by side" ATVs which were LOUD. Saturday night they were still going past our rig at 11pm and I was awakened by one at midnight.

The road into the campground was narrow and I was wary when driving there, but ultimately it was fine.
