Great place to see and enjoy the view out the bay. With the boats coming in and out, this place is really well situated to see and feel the vibe of the city!

Quiet, beautiful views, very well maintained. Bathrooms and laundry as good as home.
Other parks are a little closer to shops and restaurants, but it is very walkable.

We arrived without reservations on a Tuesday and opted for Bear Paw II along the water with a view of the harbor. There are 27 sites, 20 of which had water view. Registration for this area is done at the main Bear Paw campground on Harbor Drive. This is an adult area and they were very serious about it. (A family came to the RV next door with children and they were almost immediately told the children could not be there.)
Gravel sites are close together with full hook ups and a picnic table. A nearby building had washers, dryers and private bathrooms with showers. The facilities were a bit dated but very clean. Easy walk to everything in town.

Sites are very tight. But that’s an Alaskan thing. You would think that being the largest state in the union you’d get at least a 20 ft site. But no, not here, with that being said bear paw adult park is awesome location in a beautiful town. Highly recommend.

When we heard the boondocking was closed at Valdez glacier we lucked out and got a last minute reservation here. Overall stay was spectacular. The waterfront views just cannot be beat. Great ATT cell service, surprisingly good wifi, fairly easy back-in sites, large private rooms with shower facilities-water got very hot and stayed that way. Laundry facilities onsite are $3 to wash and $3 to dry. Quarters only which can be obtained at the main office (at the other bear paw campground). Walking distance to all the main shops and restaurants. Could’ve stayed here for weeks…the views just never get old.

Laundry facility is in building with bathroom/showers, which were very clean. Gorgeous flowers everywhere. We rarely stay in RV parks but this one was fantastic and we would definitely return. Great WiFI too!

Of all the sites we camped at in Alaska during our 3 mo. stay - this was in the top three. Sites were clean, the shower/laundry area was nicely done and spacious. Great site with fantastic views of Valdez!

There are two Bear Paw campgrounds. The office and main campground is on Harbor Drive. There is a smaller Bear Paw campground down the road and across the street. It is a bit hard to find, but right on the harbor. Really nice and quiet. Late May only three rigs here.

Last year we stayed in their main campground in the center of town, this was much nicer, really only a block or two farther from the harbor and restaurants, but right on the harbor. Some of the sites look over on the canal leading to the docks and there are boat noises there but not terrible. Our site number 4 was on the harbor looking toward the Valdez Ferry Terminal. The campground is beautifully maintained and the showers, toilets and laundry facilities clean and convenient.
