The sites are all very big (pull through). The communication before was awesome - no physical check-in needed. The bathrooms/showers are private and huge! But best of all, the wifi actually works and is fast!! Also, an easy 15/20 min drive to the Dunes.

Check in is hands off and I like that you can just pull into your site when you arrive. We snagged a last minute cancellation.
The wifi is fast!

We stayed here 2 separate nights on a weeklong road trip in the area late May 2021. The reservation by phone both times was handled by a very pleasant efficient person. We received texts and emails to confirm the stay, within which were detailed instructions on accessing the full hookup site and the services. WiFi was strong, and the bath house is one of the best ever. Heated, individual bathrooms for exceptional privacy. Clean, gravel level pads which are VERY big. Aside for the WIND (thank you Momma Nature) this is an awesome camp ground. some road noise, but gets quiet during night.

The rate we got was the winter rate and includes GoodSam discount. Great price for full hookups and facilities.

The pros are:
The sites are huge! You could easily fit the biggest rig ever and still have room to park additional cars.
As mentioned by others the baths are nice and private.
The mountain views are pretty. With some good sunsets!
Solid WiFi. We were streaming no problem
The only con is lots of highway noise so if you can pick a site furthest from the highway.
And you really are in the middle of nowhere but outside of staying in the national park—I’d say this is closest and nicest.

Each site has its own trash container. The restroom/shower facility is awesome! There are 4 large private rooms, each room has its own sink, toilet and shower. 1 washer and dryer. The RV park is close to Alamosa restaurants and the Great Sand Dunes Natl Park (VERY COOL). We would stay here again.

Perfect place to stage activities at Great National Sand Dunes park. RV spots are easy to use. Very desert style surroundings. Did I mention the bathrooms were awesome??? Verizon and Internet service is good (I work on the road).
Great place to stop!!!

The campground doesn’t look like much when you pull into it. It looks like a gravel parking lot right off of US-160. They’ve planted a few trees with the intention of creating some shade in a few years, but right now there is no shade whatsoever, and there is definitely road noise (less so at night but still there).
On the flip side, the sites are spacious for a private campground. There’s plenty of room between sites, and they are long (over 100 feet). We saw some sites occupied with two campers front to back during our stay.
And the lack of trees meant we had an fairly unimpeded view of the mountains surrounding the valley in all directions, including a partial view of Great Sand Dunes National Park and a great view of nearby Mt. Blanca. The nighttime view of the sky was equally impressive: because the campground is several miles east of Alamosa, we had a great view for stargazing, and could even see hints of the Milky Way on very clear nights.
We had no issues with our hookups, which is good because the management presence on the campground is minimal. There’s a campground host, and a camper that seemed to sell ice and firewood, but no actual office. But the trees were being watered regularly, and the trash cans at the end of each site were emptied regularly. Prior to our arrival, we were emailed our site number and told to simply pull into the site: I don’t know if that’s something they've always done or a process they implemented with COVID-19.
Cell service was decent: I got 14Mbps down and 61Mbps up with my Verizon hotspot with MIMO antenna, enough for streaming TV though with occasional stutters, and 25Mbps down and 1.4BMps up with my AT&T phone. Near the end of our week-long stay, I was experiencing serious lag starting around the mid-to-later afternoon which made working difficult using either service; not sure why (I didn’t use the campground WiFi - which my wife said was decent - just because of the nature of my work).
In short, they named this campground well. It’s a decent (if maybe overpriced) “base camp” for exploring (and viewing the region), but you’re not coming to this campground for the campground itself.

The site was clean and well maintained, it did take a couple of leveling blocks to level is out but overall not too bad. The site has a fire ring, picnic table, and trash can right at the site. All hookups were right next to each other. Power was good (30amp) and an additional 15 amp plug which was perfect for the heated hose without having to use an extension cord. Wifi was good at 2 bars Verizon LTE 4g was also at 2 bars. It did get pretty windy there, but overall we were happy with our stay.
