Overall Rating
Close to a road but not a lot of traffic. Lake is pretty to look at, not sure i would swim in it. No space between campers but most have a table and fire ring. Mine did not. 10 minutes to the quaint town of Ashcroft with plenty of amenities. 15 minutes from Tim Hortons on highway 97.
Canadian cell service no issues.

Excellent free camping in a BC Recreation area only about 8 minutes outside Ashcroft. There are 2 gravel areas each with about 6 “spots” with picnic tables and fire rings. There’s a couple of sites off the road between the 2 gravel lots, good for tents or truck campers (or brave RVs). There’s no privacy between the spots in the gravel ... more
Excellent free camping in a BC Recreation area only about 8 minutes outside Ashcroft. There are 2 gravel areas each with about 6 “spots” with picnic tables and fire rings. There’s a couple of sites off the road between the 2 gravel lots, good for tents or truck campers (or brave RVs). There’s no privacy between the spots in the gravel lots, but we had the entire area to ourselves. Pit toilets were clean since they are so rarely used. BEWARE: our dog had a leech on her after swimming in the lake. Check any animals or kids who get in the water.
A little road noise from trucks going to the plant farther down the road, but not too bad.
