They water the green areas once a week and told us we might want to move our truck so it wouldn't get wet. You can fill up with water from a very slow hose. Latrines are clean. Cost is by donation. You can stay up to 3 nights. There's benches down by the shady creek and a beautiful picnic area across the creek. The views of the cliffs are absolutely magnificent. You can listen to lots of birds in the mornings and crickets at night. There are areas to walk and you can hike to the top of the arch. No cell or internet service.

Of note, the gate is automatic so it closes at 8pm and reopens at 8am.

Other slots in the cul-de-sac will require unhooking if you're too long.
Donations are accepted inside of the little building to the right of the campground entrance.
It's a bit of a drive off the interstate, but worth it as a destination.

Where to begin- everything about our stay here was wonderful. We called ahead of time to make sure there was a spot for our conversion SUV, and at the time, there was. As it’s first come first serve, we were lucky to arrive at 7pm to find a beautiful spot right next to the river. Dee, one of the owners, told us on the phone that if they don’t answer at the office upon our arrival, we would find them working in the park. So we set out and soon after found Dee. She signed us in and was super sweet and helpful.
The natural bridge was gorgeous and we quickly ran up the mini-trail to the top of the bridge to take sunset photos. The surrounding wall of red rock was absolutely beautiful! There were little bunnies and birdies scurrying around the grassy areas. Doug (Dee’s husband) warned us about rattlesnakes, mountain lions, and bob cats, though we didn’t run into any during our short stay.
PROS
Beautiful, clean, quiet, and FREE.
You can tell that Dee and Doug (the owners) put a lot of love and care into this place.
Plenty of clean bathrooms, even a handicap bathroom. Lots of picnic tables scattered throughout, even a volleyball court and a playground. There’s lots of little art pieces strewn throughout the walkways that were fun to look at.
CONS
Zero cell service. For both ATNT and Verizon. And no WiFi. As we were only staying one night, this didn’t bother us at all, but perhaps not ideal for a longer stay - unless you’re looking to disconnect entirely, then this is your spot.
SUMMARY
This campsite is perfect in so many ways so even though it’s free, please leave a donation.

An absolutely stunning and unique place to stay! The campground is extremely clean and well taken care of. My site was right by the stream and natural bridge - sitting by the stream at dusk was truly spectacular as the colors changed by the minute with the arch and cliffs in the background. Highly recommend.

I can't believe anyone would give this campground less than 5 stars for everything. This was by far the best CG in our 30 day trek across the western states. I know the weather, your mood swings (who said that?), and lots of other things can affect how you view a campground - but this is a little bit of heaven. It is gorgeous - especially if you're lucky enough to get one right on the water, like we did. I can't say more. I did not post any pictures, as others have captured it very well.

“NO PETS ALLOWED!!!”
noted 9/17/2024
I drove all the way here to stay. The minute u are rye entrance road before u pull o to park, stands a sign that states NO PETS! $100 FINE!
I have a cat, always on leash. But I’ve encountered so many people who WILL NOT leash their dogs and as the saying goes, ruining because not all of the owners pick up their dog crap!!!💩. I guarantee u that’s most likely the reason.
If u go to their web site, it does state no pets on it. Campendium page DOES LIST NO PETS! I’m sure it affects the numbers staying there, but I doubt seriously that they care about numbers since it’s free.
