We drove all the way up the mountain to go to this site only to find it gated in the middle of the night

The road coming in gets busy and sites are just off the road so you don’t get much privacy. Lots of active lifestyle people out and about here but the shooting was just too much for us.
One night a group of teenagers parked across the street from our spot and proceeded to shoot (away from us) for close to three hours straight (until 11 pm). Also you hear gun shots all day long and there is a shooting range down the mountain but this was clearly coming from inside the area.
Also, dry camping, pack in pack out and free roaming cows.

This was a last minute decision for us to go, and I’m glad we did. We were the only campers around, although there was quite a bit of motocross and UTV traffic. However, after about 11 PM the traffic decreased significantly (but there was still at least one car passing by every hour or two). There was also a lot of wildlife activity which was eerie at first, but once we figured out what was rustling the leaves, it was good. The road to get to the site isn’t all that bad. I’ve read other people’s complaints about it and think they’re overstated. We saw several sedans drive the road with no issue. But it is bumpy.
Drawbacks: the few sites are very close to the road, so you hear and see all the traffic. There was broken glass everywhere, it seems like a good hangout for high school kids to go and drink. There also wasn’t a lot of foliage.

We tried accessing this from Eden and the road is steep and narrow. There are large sharp rocks that could puncture tires. We were unable to get to the dispersed camping.
