We read some really negative reviews on other sites about criminal behavior and homelessness. We did not experience that at all. Stayed Tuesday thru Sunday and saw many people come and go but didn’t feel uncomfortable one bit. Normal RV life with new rigs every day but everyone we spoke to was super nice and no problems at all. They did lock the community restrooms/showers and laundry at 7 pm but we didn’t mind because we are self contained. We liked it and will certainly be back again.

Sites are level, well spaced and very easy to back into. Only complaint is that the sites need a good mowing and weed whacking. Lots of birds and trees. Laundry was nice with 3W and 3D. Very close to anything you could want to see or do in Eugene. WiFi was hit or miss.

We enjoyed our stay at this county campground. Our site was clean, level and spacious. We had a large yard area behind us, and plenty of privacy from our next door neighbors. It was quiet there, maybe too quiet. We saw other reviews that warned of homeless people there - we didn't see that exactly, but the tent camping in the back was a bit sketchy and I suppose that is where people saw campers that looked homeless? But we had no issues and felt entirely safe. Unfortunately it rained nearly every day, so we didn't get to do much outdoor "camping". But you are very close to Eugene and the University of Oregon, and this is an easy city to move around. If you like to fish, this is an ideal location. You can walk to the McKenzie River for fly fishing. The rivers were running too high for us to fly fish, but in better weather it would be ideal.
For full hookups in a State Park feel, I feel like the value is outstanding. I was a bit surprised that the cell service wasn't better, being so close to a city. I believe the park is safe, and if some folks who are down on their luck are peacefully camping there, who are we to judge.

Pros
Beautiful Park. Great pull throughs and hook ups. Good price. Easy to register. Quiet. Close to amenities.
Cons
It is better than last year but some of the campers are obviously in challenging times and their rigs appearance is disappointing and just a little intimidating.

Park itself is well designed with paved roads and sites and grass, trees, shrubs. Has a laundry house as well.
Site is very spacious with full hookups 50A and probably 30’ space to the next site. Site is paved and level. Has also cable connection.

We decided to make a stop here for one night as we traveled back home from Seattle to S. California September 2021. Did not make reservations and by the time we got to the park, the office had just been closed. The very nice lady who works there and lives next to the office came out and got us a site to park for the night. We loved this park! So quiet and rustic even it's close to I-5. Spacious site (#27) with full hook-ups and the price ($35-AAA) was just right. We did not do much since it was getting late but camping in the 'forest' made our day on this long stretch driving south. Would love to come back and spend more time here.

Armitage Park campground is operated by Lane County, OR. The campground checks lots of boxes: convenient to I-5, but without intrusive road noise; very large, level, paved sites with vegetation between many to offer privacy, a combination of pull-through and back-in sites; showers, restrooms and a coin laundry; adjacent to a huge off-leash dog park, day use area and walking trails, and it’s close to Eugene, OR, a fun town with a great Farmer’s Market.
Each RV site has a picnic table, firepit, digital cable and 50amp full hook-ups, there are also tent sites. Garbage and recycling containers are located throughout the campground. No separate dump station.
We only had one night at Armitage Park, but definitely feel it would be worth a return trip when we could stay longer. Overall, the park appeared well maintained, although I didn’t use the restroom, shower or laundry facilities. We were pleased to find the Wi-Fi was pretty decent, although during our stop in January maybe a third of the sites were occupied so that may change if the campground was full.
One caveat, we called ahead to make a reservation and nobody mentioned there was a $10 reservation fee added to camping fee. Didn’t find out until I looked at the confirmation email. It made our one night stop a bit pricier than anticipated.
We had 2 bars of Verizon 4G and the wifi for internet access.

Second time we have stayed here and still more to discover. Didn’t even know the McKenzie River was a short walk down the trail. Pretty nice sites, full hook up with shade or full sun depending on your preference. Charming hosts. Nice facilities. Even a dog park.

Quiet and green with lots of pull through spots which are pretty level. Full hookups and even got some TV reception with our built in antenna. Lots of room to throw the ball and exercise the dog. We’ve stayed here twice simply for one night traveling but we would stay longer.
