We visited this park the first summer it opened. 3 RV’s later, it has matured to an outstanding facility. In those days, we had no TV reception, but our motor home was equipped with a DVD player, & we were well stocked. These days, cell phone reception is competing with the beautiful trees surrounding the park, but we’re bingeing via the parks internet. The park is not open year round, so past visits to the area have required staying in others. Ancient Redwoods is our favorite.

Sturdy Plastic chairs are available. The lack of picnic tables was the only odd thing to mention. Well, also the sign for the campground was a bit confusing for me. But my wife understood it. We would return in a heartbeat.

We were in a pinch and this location delivered. We have a 42’ motorhome with a Jeep Wrangler in tow and they had a pull through spot on a Saturday night. It was easy to get to, great directions from the staff and we had quiet neighbors. The only issue we faced was the one cherry plum tree on our way out of the site that wasn’t cut back far enough. Luckily we were able to maneuver around it. There is no cell service, wifi is spotty at best, no picnic tables but would definitely stay here again for an overnighter.

Very cute, very quiet campground with full hook ups. The grounds are extremely clean and is very quiet. The store is very limited on supplies so don’t count on them for much. All in all… i would stay here again.

A great combination of "in the trees", and wide open space where your satellite connects. FHUs with 50 amp. The park is lovingly maintained with large paved sites surrounded by lush green lawn. Fire pits and clean, new square tables. You need your own chairs as they aren't picnic tables. Showers, restrooms and laundry provided although we didn't need them. The staff are awesome. We appreciated having the campers spread out most of the time we were there.
This is a very quiet and dark park where we felt completely safe.
Several certificates are provided for their Internet. It was fast enough for everything we needed.
Zero cell service at the park and in the surrounding area. 12 miles to the nearest gas station, 20 miles to Fortuna, right on the Avenue of the Giants.

Just a one night stay for us on this trip up north. Well maintained, quiet park with full hookups. Sites were good sized but not too private. No large trees in the RV park but surrounded by lush forests around the perimeter. Good basic wifi with additional bandwidth available for a fee.

I think this is the newest campground in the area. VERY clean and organized. Laundry room was great. People were great too. The gift shop they have is very nice, clean and inviting. This campground is right on the Avenue of the Giants auto tour road. This the primary reason to come here, to drive the AOTG tour and take the hikes through the giant ancient redwoods. Location couldn't be better. The only think wrong with this location is there is absolutely no cell coverage for ATT or Verizon. Phones don't work for voice or data. They have a shelter in the campground labeled "Cellphone Boost Area", but even under the shelter the phones wouldn't work. To get Internet you have to use the campground wifi system, which isn't bad, but you only get 2GB of data for free. Then you have to buy your data for $5/GB. That whole idea of charging extra for more Internet just doesn't sit right with me, but I'm sure this is their way of mitigating everyone streaming videos, which would ruin the QOS of the wifi connection.

All the hook ups cute quiet and clean. The people that run the place were very nice! The picnic tables need a lot of help. Other than that it worked out great for an overnight.
Wi-Fi worked great!

Really nice little park tucked into the redwoods. I was running late and they called me to make sure everything was okay and that I was still planning to arrive. Customer Service!!
I only stayed one night as I was passing thru from Bay Area to Oregon ... could have stayed longer.

The biggest downfall is absolute lack of phone service, which is not always a bad thing. They do have wifi available for a cost. But if you can live without it this is a very nice park. Friendly staff are happy to give directions and provide maps. The park is nice and quiet because the trees block any highway noise. The park is easy to navigate with level sites and plenty of grassy area between sites and has no obstructions for slides. Full 50amp hookups. They even had double sewer openings for those of us with front and back waste tanks. We we're in one of the longer pull thru sites second from the far end, it even had room to park the truck when disconnected.
