The wifi option is funneled through a garberville city business called 101network... They want you to pay for an access code "per device" at a rate of $5 Per GB. If you stay for 1 week the park will give you 2.5gb for one device. Unfortunately I need about 20gb per week at minimum so we couldnt stay...

The individual sites themselves aren't anything special; very level asphalt pads and spacious grass beltways in between. But what sets this park apart is it's location deep within the majesty of the redwoods.
There are many surrounding communities with a wide variety of food, shopping and wine tasting available, as well as at least a dozen hiking trails to explore.
From the moment we walked in the door to the main store / registration desk, the customer service was exemplary. This is one of the finest parks we have ever stayed at.
One caveat... AT&T users will have a difficult time connecting voice. Verizon users have access to a booster site. The park's WIFI is excellent, but we have yet to find a spot to use our phones.

We stayed at Ancient Redwoods RV park in April 2016. The park is very well appointed. We were in site 27 on the far end of the park with no neighbors between us and the redwood trees which surround the park. Very helpful and friendly staff in the office during check-in. We spent 4 nights here and spent our days exploring all the wonders of the redwoods, local communities, and the lost coast. A very rewarding experience for us on each day. The redwood trees are nature's beautiful cathedral - priceless. To have the opportunity to walk among these giants is a humbling experience - everyone should make the time. The local communities are colorful and full of neat artisans and people to experience. The lost coast is absolutely breathtaking beauty.
One word of caution - the 100 mile circle drive out to the lost coast is a bust - the roughest roads we have ever experienced - we are still rattling in our boots. Better to visit through Ferndale.
Ancient Redoods RV Park is the perfect location to launch from and explore this beautiful section of Northern California. Good free internet service provided by the park. AT&T does not exist. Verizon was in and out. We will definitely stay here on our next journey up the Northern California area. We stayed in a 40' RV with a Jeep Wrangler day cruiser.

We stayed at Ancient Redwoods for 5 nights while exploring the Avenue of the Giants and Humboldt Redwoods State Park. This is a good "no frills" RV park in a great location, right along the Avenue of Giants. The sites are pretty long (good for big rigs) and paved, mostly pull-throughs, with a nice grass lawn between each, but no privacy between sites. The staff was friendly and helpful, but once they leave the office for the evening you're on your own: there was no camp host. We had no cell service at all (Verizon or AT&T) and even with our booster we could only get a weak signal. Fortunately the free WiFi worked pretty well most of the time. We were there just a week after they opened for the season (May 2015), so there were only about 10 RVs in the park. We found plenty of places to walk our dogs inside the park, but we did find some ticks on the dogs after walks, so beware! There was some road noise during the day, but it was mostly quiet at night. We'd return here if we were visiting the area again.

Loved this park for its location. We wanted a nice park to be our base while we explored the area. We camped at the end of the season in mid October. The park usually closes at the end of October due to the threat of flooding. Park was very well maintained and sites where easy to get in to and big rig friendly. Not a lot of privacy but we basically just used the campground for sleeping and were gone most of the day. The staff was absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. The drive through the Redwoods if beautiful and we managed with our big rig.
We visited the Lost Coast, Fern Canyon, Shelter Cove and all the nearby towns. We are huge craft beer enthusiasts and there are at least 6 great breweries in the area. Definitely give Eel River a try in Fortuna.
No AT&T cell service but the free wifi worked well inside our trailer.
