Very easy access to Cowboy Trail which made for a pleasant evening jaunt.
Well maintained park - keep an eye out for some low branches especially when the trees leaf out.

Nebraska cities seemingly have cornered the market on inexpensive camp sites with hookups at city parks. East City Park in Ainsworth is just another example of this.
The campsites here are in a large grass field, to the right after entering the park. The dump station is to the left over in the northwest corner by the football field. The camp sites are located between the horseshoe courts and a baseball field, near the tennis and basketball court in the southeast corner of the park. This area of the park is a pretty good way from US 20 so road noise isn't that bad. The field has about eight pedestals, each with a pair of 20 and 30 amp electric outlets. Sites are not marked and some offer pretty decent shade. Most areas of the field near the electric posts are fairly level. There are water spigots throughout the park for filling tanks before settling into a site. Pretty quiet here, very few campers on the rainy weekend I was here. There is a bathroom near the electric sites but there is a much nicer one over by the football field. No showers. A large park here, which is great for walking around and also one could walk laps on the running track around the football field.
I would avoid the dump station here as it is very muddy and the connection inlets for sewer hoses are about 8 inches off the ground -- much too high for my taste. There is a really good free dump station about 45 miles west off of Highway 20 in Valentine. There is also a free dump about 20 miles east in Atkinson right on US 20 as well.
Definitely a good place to stay for $10 a night with an electric hookup and fresh water available. There is a three night limit.

Main road was under construction. Had to make a detour to get there. Parking area not well marked. If you come in the first entrance by the pay box, take it right. You will go left for dump station which costs $5. Sites are not marked. You just park on grass next to electrical boxes. Each electrical box had 2 30 amp services and 2 20 amp services. Hydrants throughout the park but none at sites. You have your pick of shaded or unshaded spots. 3 other sites were occupied tonight on a Saturday. Great area if you have a dog. Quiet location in a city park.
If you like horseshoes, there are 24 horseshoe pits right next to campground!
Town had the cheapest diesel we have seen since we left Idaho!
Thankful for this layover in a non gravel parking lot.

Great place to camp, beautiful view, playground, toilets. When you enter it’s hard to tell which way to go for camping
Turn right and the sights are in the back
They have 30 amp or 110 electric hookups. There is access to water, but no water hookups. The dump station is to the left when you first enter the park
We loved it !

They had a nice playground nearby but it was too hot to be outdoors (over 100).

I found it easier from the West on Hwy 20 than coming from the East on Hwy 20. Sites are on grass. Most seem level. Low branches on trees so be careful on the road near the horseshoe area. Bathrooms are closed.
Electric only $7
Water/electric/Dump $10

If there’s a lot of rain the RV campsites would be very soggy.None of the bathrooms were open at this time.

The park is a real community asset. I will look for this place again if I come this way.
