“Pretty lakes, tiny fish, loud trains”

Well-spaced level asphalt pads. Lots of them. No water at hookups, but lots of hydrants on the way in. Shade from giant cottonwoods. Access to Platte River. Great family activities.
VW would stay here again

Beautiful spot by the Platte river. Only draw back was the train’s blasting their horn. Nice trails and very clean.

My spot was literally 20 ft from a VERY active railroad, train goes by every 5-20 mins at night. Kept waking me up all night long. Went to see if I could cancel my next night for a refund and they said absolutely not. Too bad its pretty there but I cant recommend for poor grounds planning and customer service.

Where do I begin? We're in a 33-foot Class A motor home, towing. We took a 50-amp site with a nice view of one of the lakes. Despite being in a 50-amp motor home site, this was our experience:
1) First, foremost, most surprising and unexpected was that the site had NO WATER HOOKUP. None of the sites in the park have water. You're expected to fill your tank at the fill station when you go in, but no one tells you that. So, we drove in, stopped at the pay station, found a site, drove back as instructed to pay, and then drove to the site and set up. Noticed there was no water, called the office, picked up the jacks and pulled in the slides to drive back to the fill station and then back to the site. Really?!!
2) The place wasn't kept up. There was trash on our site from previous occupants. We couldn't extend our awning because trees weren't trimmed, driving through the park, tree branches brushed against our AC units, and there were two dead ash trees on the neighboring site.
3) There's no way you'd know this, except maybe from Google satellite view, but the place is right along a heavily-used railroad track. It's also along a fairly busy highway and basically across the street from a huge cement plant in town. So between the distant din from the factory, the ever-present road noise, the sound of our water pump running every time someone opened a tap, and the sound of commerce being swiftly moved along the rails, it wasn't very quiet or relaxing.
4) A further annoyance -- since we were in a motor home towing a vehicle, we had to pay for TWO $8 vehicle passes.
5) Check-out time was 12 noon.
6) There was a good 2- to 3- inch drop between the edge of the asphalt pad and the ground of the site -- a twisted or broken ankle waiting to happen.

Literally we were running from bad spring storms south of us, arrived here in a freezing rain on April 10th. Checked in, picked a site set up as strong winds blasted us and then snow flurries began.
Site just had electric, no water and waste containers wouldn't be there for another month. Still full fee with all the extras. Dump station didn't have water turned on either. I appreciate they have cold weather later in the year, but full fees? Gimme a break!
Sites were beautiful, asphalt, tables and fire pits. Plenty of length to the sites and each had good spacing with plenty of trees and grass.
There were trains nearby, but not too loud or often.
Tomp would stay here again
