There is a steep grade from US 277 when heading north into the campground. However, if approaching from US 277 heading south, there is no steep grade. Be aware if you have a long rig. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 36.2 Mbps download speed and 1.68 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 78.3 Mbps download speed and 6.72 Mbps upload speed. Decent views, plenty of space to walk, but sloped sites. This campground is positioned on a slight hill. So most sites are not level. However the incline gives the ability to see down towards the water a distance. No water view per se. Any rig around 35’ or less should at least have a handful of sites to choose from. Bigger rigs will still have no issue driving in from main road. There is a huge space to park and turn around while scoping out sites. Longer rigs: This is good spot to scope out first knowing that you have San Pedro as a back up option. This would be my preference over San Pedro for the views and ability to walk down towards water a bit easier.

Nothing fancy here -- a dirt pad (fairly level) with a sun shade over a picnic table which sits on a concrete pad. No hookups or amenities of any kind, except there are pit toilets. Plenty of room between sites, though there is little privacy. Just off Highway 377/277 which is not too busy. Noise was not a big factor at night. Pretty sharp (near U-Turn) with a drop off getting into the campground if travelling from Del Rio.

Dry camping in the NRA for only $6 per night. Gravel site included concrete pad with a picnic table and a cover. Close to Del Rio and not far off the highway. Noise was not noticeable. Pit toilet but no water. Dump station in the NRA a short drive away. WanderingWakes.Net

I didn't use any pass, so I paid full price. Feasible to dump in the toilets the way they are setup if you can carry your tanks in. Not very clean, though.
Not much to do in winter, lake is dried up. I did see a bunch of deer running through the bed, from the boat ramp.

Nothing fancy here but you can't beat the price. After weeks in Arizona and west Texas, the first glimpses of that beautiful lake were most restorative. Ahhh... Limited number of sites but plenty of room, each site with covered table. No other shade. Basic clean vault toilet. Dry camping. Didn't appear to have a stay limit, no camp host and a few rigs looked parked for the winter. Good goat head sticker free dog walking if you stick to the roads leading to the lake. Little bit of road noise in the early a.m. The lake is gorgeous and city of Del Rio was a surprise. Every modern everything and a historic area with canals. Breakfast burrito at Stripes seems to be the in thing.
