We arrived on a Monday, a day after some rain passed by and the roads were easy still, the sun had really dried up the mud and there luckily wasn't dust because of that. We had arrived about 4pm and there were about 4 spots available in spots 1 to 12. Each spot is about 10 yards or more away from each other, and low lying shrubs so VERY little privacy. When we started on dinner at about 5pm, we had our screen tent up and had cooked under that and yeah, the bugs wig out and go crazy for the food smell, not super bad though, we ate without much problems.
If you want to give this spot a chance, you should try if there looks like there are less than 12 spots taken, ahahaha, since you can pretty much see everything from the main road. We had very little hope for a spot as the previous reviews mostly say there is little hope for spots nearly all week.
It has lovely, magnificent views LITERALLY 360° for probably all of these Hurricane Cliff Designated Spots. Its convenient, its beautiful, its level-ish, we came after a bit of rain so not so dusty. Its got washboard so thats crappy, and very little privacy, also crappy. It's 5 ⭐'s cause there is nice mountain biking trails riddled around this area and we are TOTALLY stoked, if there wasn't mountain biking trails, we would have kept it at 4 ⭐'s.
If you have time, visit the Museums in Hurricane, one is Hurricane Valley Heritage Park Museum (FREE entry) and the other is Pioneer Corner Museum (also FREE entry), they are run by such lovely people! Lots of really neat things to see or learn. Also check out Matts Off Road Recovery Gift Shop and their Youtube, very solid cool people who make every recovery a fun one! Very nice tour of their yard and all their custom vehicles are AWESOME. For eatery, check out Main Street Cafe, yummy lunch options! Lovely, lovely town!

We picked the 1st spot open which was 1. Nice and big and a perfect view. The road to the other sites was rutted from recent rains. We didn’t want to go down any further. We had no idea sheep bridge rd was a major road and so busy. Cars trucks bikes motor homes atv. All flying. Would stay here again but definitely pick another spot

We had a nice stay of 4 nights at campsite #15. The location is large and very private. The road in isn’t the best - a bit of washboard and some ruts but, unless there has been a lot of rain, doable. In LaVerkin you can dump for free at the Maverick and potable water is across the street at the Sinclair. Overall a better than normal stay.

The dirt road leading to the camp spots was even worse. But did get into a spot. Our spot had broken glass every where. And the raven behind our spot looked like a garbage dump. Across the raven looked like it had been used for target practice. Sad.
A road grader did come through today to smooth out the main road, much better now.
Would I come back, yes. But would try a different site.

We arrived on a windy Tuesday afternoon and bounced along rutted roads to find that all the 5 star Hurricane campsites were FILLED! On the way out we noticed site 1 was empty, and having no alternative we decided to take it. Site 1 was right on Sheep Bridge Road, which was convenient. But every car that drove by kicked up a lot of dust.
Two days later, site 12 opened up. We hooked up the trailer in 15 minutes and secured the site. The wind died down and the views were spectacular. It was quiet, felt remote, and clean. We would definitely come back. The proximity to Zion was a plus!

This is the windiest campsite I’ve ever been too. My rooftop tent can’t stay open. Really feels like a hurricane. Don’t know if it’s seasonal or always like this. I tried staying here on Feb 8th.

Found a great spot to camp for a few nights. Road the fun MTB trails right from our camper. Next day spent the day hiking at Zion. A bit dusty but for free you can’t beat it! The road in had washboards and ruts but manageable with our chevy truck pulling our 25’ Passport trailer.

Hurricane Cliffs aka Sheep's Bridge Rd.
Sites 1-12
PROS:
Stunning views
Free 14 day - although in 14 days we never saw anyone check
Verizon & ATT 4-5 bars even with no booster
Wide open, strong solar all but 1 day
20m to Zion NP, 2m to Virgin Falls Park for a dip in the river
Jem & Hurricane Cliffs Trails right out the door
Free water at Hurricane Maverick (pump 5/6); Free dump & rinse water at La Verkin Maverick
Propane fill at Tractor Supply (call 1st to verify certified personnel on duty)
Davis & Lin grocery stores close, well stocked, a bit high
Walmart within 20 min. Autozone in Hurricane
Decent restaurants, good movie theater showing new releases
Hurricane Laundry reasonably priced, various sized machines. Attendant was a hoot.
CONS:
Dust... and I mean dust!
Fine, silty, reddish stuff that wafts in the air, settles in your screens, your rugs, your skin, and generally coats anything air touches. The views are worth it, just be prepared to constantly wipe, mop, wash feet, shoes etc.
Sheep's Bridge Rd (SBRd) is pretty Washboarded right now. It is doable going slow, but you're gonna rattle your innards a bit.
Spacing is decent, but not 'I'm in the middle of nowhere'.
Rigs about 50-100yrds apart, 6-12 rigs/tent/cars a night in our area, half usually only there for the night.
Everyone pretty respectful of noise & lights after 10pm.
Mornings a little noisy as the mountain bikers come through.
Only 3 OTA channels
SITE 1-12:
Silty dirt, scrub brush, no shade, 360 views
#1 right off SBRd, easiest overnight, and sized to hold a few rigs. Very dusty.
#8 half way in, deceptively large site. You can't see how big/ long it is until you're past it. Easily held a large Class C & 2 5vers, Could hold more in a group situation.
#6 could hold our 34' 5vr, and we saw a 40'+ 5ver get in there but WOW that guy is GOOD!
#7 could hold us backed in, truck disconnected to the side.
There is a loop to turn around at site 12, IF no one has parked in the road.
We scouted out other locations in this area as well. The 50s sites are easier access to Zion, but pretty crowded, and not particularly level for us. 25-36 had some nice sites, but a long drive on the washboarded SBRd, and most of the good sites stayed full the 14 days we were here. 38 is an easy overnight right off SBRd similar to #1 on main road, can hold a couple rigs and very dusty. #13 be careful, the big open spot on google maps is actually NOT Dispersed camping, the road on the left leads back to the sites.
