Yes, it is only an open gravel lot, but it was clean and level and the spots were easy enough to get in to. We chose a back-in spot up against the hedge and had plenty of room, spot was level and all services worked fine. Previous review said the registration required numerous onerous forms requiring much information. We found this did not apply to us as we had registered online and supplied all that information already, we only had to fill out the simple five-line card and put it in the slot. Previous reviews also mentioned the noise of traffic, trains and dogs. The place is far from the interstate, we are old and apparently going deaf, never heard any trains that night, dog noises did not bother us, nor did road noise. Woodland is a great place covering both a cute, historic downtown as well as a nearby mall with many food and shopping options. We never felt unsafe, no one occupying other spots looked unsavory.

This RV park is a gravel parking lot. Ridiculous amount of bureaucracy for the limited services. There is a two page contract to sign, under threat of eviction. They want physical COPIES of your vehicle registration and insurance cards—WHY?? No one knows. All of this goes into an iron drop box. I have NEVER had to provide this level of documentation at ANY of the hundreds of RV parks, public and private, I’ve stayed at. It feels very intrusive and unnecessary. There is no designated camp host site. Many of the sites seem to be taken up by permanent road/construction workers. The homeless wander in and out, digging through the trash at all hours. It used to be a quiet place to stay for a night or two while passing through. It is no longer on my list of welcoming places to

This campground is located in the city of Woodland at the Fairgrounds. It is a gravel parking lot with RV full hook-ups. We used the location as a base camp while visiting Sacramento about a 30 minute drive. There is a laundry across the street, but nothing else of interest near by.

It's nothing special but for the price and considering the alternatives, it's not bad. The park is on the fairgrounds which are right in the middle of town. You'll get traffic and train noise, but there's shopping and dining, along with what looked like a decent downtown. All gravel with mostly back in sites but a half dozen or so pull thrus reserved for visitors staying only one or two nights so we didn't have to unhook. Any rig could fit in those sights easily.
Good cell signal, full hook ups and not far from Interstate 5 makes for a nice place to spend a night or three. Not a destination park but worth a look if you're passing through.

“Some Early Morning Trains, Solid Verizon Signal”

Days stayed: | 2 |
Site Number: | Pull Thru |
RV Length: | 33' (Fifth Wheel) |
Verizon Signal averaged 8mbps down & 6mbps Up - No Booster
Solid enough for both of us to work w/ Zoom & VOIP Phones
Pull Thru sites are 2night Max. Under some bright lights but not terrible with the shades pulled.
Back-in sites are longer stay but mostly full currently.
2-3 Trains come in around 7am..

Came to Woodland for business. This is a typical fairground campground. Gravel parking lot with full hookups at each site. There is also field parking on the other end with electric and water that no one was using. There is a dump station on that end as well for $15. It is all self pay. We did not make any reservations for our mid-week stay. If you make reservations online no need to stop in the office. Go directly to your campsite.
GPS took us to a west entrance that was closed. We circled around north and found the fairground office where we were told to enter on the east side and use the self pay station. There are no restroom facilities here so you must be self contained. 14-day limit.
The park was fairly clean and there were nice rigs parked here. Did notice a few homeless circling the grounds be did not see anyone come in. Overall we felt safe but there are no gates for protection from anyone wondering in.
Sites are close together. Luckily they were not full so we picked a site with no one else on our sides. There is a factor or mill close by that was noisy during the day, but it shut down at night. Train tracks nearby as well so you will have some city noise. Nothing that disturbed us.
We would stay here again.

I used the Yolo County Fairgrounds RV Park solely to dump my black and grey water. You can pull into any empty space, so there is no waiting as this place never is full, and no waiting. $15 cash or check, payable at a self-serve kiosk. Safe and clean place.
