If you have a big rig (we have a 43ft toyhauler with the back patio) T island has some spots that will work well and some that won’t. So check site descriptions for lengths. Both spots were great. The one not on T island, our patio was right over the water. On T island the Rv was almost parallel to the shore.
During the week it’s relatively peaceful. Brace yourself for the weekend as the park fills,up and can be a little rowdy with kids, families, boaters etc. But hey its a recreational lake so it should :)
I work fulltime in IT and need good voice and data. It was a bit of a challenge for ATT and Tmobile but is possible with and without a booster. Verizon dats was fast and reliable.

A nice regional county park on the water with full hook ups. There are several campgrounds within this park. Some are walk up only. We were on the T Island. We did not have neighbors on either side but if the campground was full it would feel too crowded. Lots of geese around and at times were a little noisy. Our site was level however we noticed most sites seemed to be unlevel front to back. They also charged $4.50 a day for our dog which seems steep and unnecessary. The town of Oakdale is about 7 miles away with basic grocery stores and several restaurants. Overall we liked the park and will come back if in the area again.

I sort of have mixed feelings, but overall I would consider this a positive experience. The park is nice, very isolated next to a lake. The spots near the lake are not very level -- we couldn't even make our RV level it was so slanted. The ones in the middle looked to be much better. Also, the ones near the lake are covered in goose crap. I definitely recommend the ones a little further away.
The park is far away from anything, so if you are looking to get away, this is a nice stop.

Woodward Reservoir has both day use and overnight camping. The overnight camping is in two areas adjacent to each other. The first one you find is Hackberry Flat. Behind that is the T-island (our favorite).
Hackberry Flat has sites 1-85. The sites in the middle are pull-through sites; the sites on the waterfront are all back-in sites. The T-island is a T-shaped peninsula which can be reached by driving straight through the middle of Hackberry Flat. Where Hackberry Flat ends, there is a dam leading to the T-island. The lay-out of the T-island on Reserve America is incorrect, if you look on Google Maps and switch to satellite view, you get a better idea of the lay out. All sites on the T-island are back-in sites. Most sites on the T have a good view of the water.
Every site has a new concrete pad which is nice and level, but a bit small for a large trailer or RV. Between the concrete pad and the road is always a short driveway made of gravel, so with the concrete and gravel together, most sites have enough room. We would have liked the concrete part 10 feet longer; now our front stabilizers were on the gravel where we would have preferred for them to be on the concrete. Our site (#116 on the T-island) was on the vertical part of the T and it did have a very nice view of the lake and enough space around it. On the horizontal part of the T, the right half is very crowded with sites too close together to be comfortable. The left end is spaced a lot better. Our favorite sites on the T are #87-89. They have the best view of the lake and a lot of space around them. The best spot on Hackberry Flat is #56. Site #90 is especially for people with a handicapped permit. All sites have a picknick table and a fire pit, but sometimes these are behind the concrete pad instead of next to it.
The facilities include toilets only - I have not seen a shower but I have not been in all the buildings. They are well maintained and clean.
The folks at the entrance were friendly and helpful.
The location on the reservoir is very nice. Hackberry Flat sites, especially the ones at the beginning and to the left, have some noise from the road. On T-island it is very quiet. The town of Oakdale is 10 minutes away and has basic services. Modesto is 35-40 minutes away and has everything you might possibly need.
