The highway noise is loud all night long and each lake has a ton of trash in it, but the campground is otherwise amazing. The sites are really well spaced, the grassy areas are wonderful for running through, lots of trees for shade, and close to the small town of Gibbon NE and only 20 minutes to Kearney NE. The highway noise isn't to terrible, especially if you sleep with the windows closed. We like to open them at night. We'd absolutely stay here again, despite the trashy lakes.

Nice overnight stop, near I-80. Very easy to get to from the highway, but that means a bit of highway noise.
Site was pretty level. We did not see any camp host, and no one answered the posted number when we got there. Before you pay, make sure there is an open spot.

Great SP facility near freeway and just east of Kearney, NE. Good paved roads and sites, with 30 amp. service and water available. Dump station on park premise. $5 daily park pass on top of the $20 site fee for elec.
Most sites shaded, fishing pond for big and little kids, showers and bathrooms in good condition and kept clean. The far northern sites manage the highway (freeway) noise levels very well.
Friendly hosts and a variety of campers including long distance travelers which alwys have good adventures to relate.
Tip One: If the winds are from the south, favor picking a site on the north boundry of the c/g. This will help remedy highway noise. The Interstate is heavily traveled and quite close to the c/g.
Tip Two: Dump station at the far east side of C/G and not marked well.
Tip Three: This is a major Sandhill Crane resting area during February thru March. A short drive south of the C/G will take you to several observation areas to watch over 500,000 cranes resting during thier annual migration north to the artic.
