Question about WillowWind RV Park

camper-853286 asked on 7/29/2023

I have a serious question about this RV park. It looks like they are charging $0.14 per kilowatt hour for electricity? I thought it was illegal for any business, other than an actual utility company, to charge for electricity. Can they legally do this?

I'd like to book a site here but if they are charging for electricity when legally they cannot... I have serious doubts about it being a reputable RV park with which I want to do business. Can someone advise if this is legal for them to do?

Most parks just build-in the cost of electricity to their daily rates. I am sure they can charge the way they want to. We stayed there last year while visiting Zion Nat’l Park. This is a very nice and well maintained RV park. Would surely stay there again.

Lots of RV parks meter and charge for electricity, although it's usually only for long-term stays based on a monthly contract.

Yes, this is legal for them to do. Many RV parks charge for electricity, especially if it’s for a weekly or monthly stay.

I have been charged in other parks for using a/c- an additional 3 bucks a day. They did not do this when I stayed at WW but it might have changed. With 50 amp service and as many as 3 a/c units on a rig- that could have changed Since I live here now- I will tell you that this is the cleanest, shadiest, and least expensive park in the area. If you want to bake out on a hilltop somewhere, that's up to you.
