It’s true about the roads they would suck if there was rain - potential for lots of mud - it’s summer hot and dry today tho and we have a Honda Element all well drive so we drove onto an empty peninsula using some very crappy roads - you can choose to camp closer to nicer roads. It’s dispersed camping and we drove around to find a spot away from RV folks and the blasting generators. As long as a generator doesn’t move in we are in heaven. So peaceful - we are currently camped within site of the boat launch- lots of fishing. Swimming seemed nice - it was cold we didn’t go all the way in but the park website says “swimming and waterspouts on this lake is an enjoyable activity”

Need to travel 4.5 miles on stony dirt road. When we arrived the road was hard packed dirt. After a rainstorm in the night we had trouble getting out next day. Recommend 4 wheel drive vehicles only. Storm blew in very fast. Enjoyed the peaceful surroundings but would not venture there again! Those with boats would enjoy this spot.

We stayed here for three nights and loved it. We would have stayed longer but the weak cell service was a problem for us so we had to leave. We had minimal Verizon while using WeBoost. The road in is a nicely compact gravel road but once you get into the park it’s a drive at your own risk.
Some easier places (maybe 5 spots) you can safely pull into with a little damp ground, the other 20+ spots you need to travel on dirt/mud roads or through weeds.
In mid-August we loved it. Very dry, sweeping views, and no company nearby. We pulled straight in from the enterance with our fifth wheel and parked. The road was bumpy but manageable. Would be a great spot for Jeep camping!
We had 1 spotty bar with TMobile and Verizon LTE service. Enough to call/check email randomly. With a booster (weboost) we had enough to work and stream with no issues on both networks.
