What happens if you arrive late - after their 3-5p.m. 'check-in' time (which seems rather restrictive)?

In the weeks leading up to our stay here, we saw some news articles and reports about homeless guests and rowdy neighbors that gave us pause for concern about our choice to stay here. We are glad we discounted those and elected to evaluate this place on our own.
Recent rule changes and security measures seem to have alleviated any issues. We walked extensively in all three campground loops and saw zero areas of concern. Saw many snowbirds, lots of well-behaved dogs, and generally friendly folks.
Restroom and laundry rooms are well maintained and completely adequate for us.
Our site was wide and open and because there is no specific required orientation for your unit, many options are available regarding your set up.

Wickham Park sits in the middle of Melbourne, Florida. But you’d never know it from inside the park or the campground. It’s a county park with an archery range, equestrian events, a light show during the holidays and wildlife wandering around the rest of the time. It’s not a pristine rule enshrouded RV resort, but it’s green, mostly shady and the park rangers don’t bother you unless there’s a problem. The sites are mostly spacious but there can be lots of water around in the rainy season and if a hurricane blows through you will have to evacuate and it can be a couple of weeks before power and cleanup is complete.

This County Park was strictly OK for us. We needed to find a place on the Space Coast for a few days to watch a rocket launch. It was tough to find a reservation. We chanced upon an opening here. Turns out, we were lucky...getting space in here during the winter is difficult due to the large number of snow birds.
Check-in was not smooth. Apparently there was an event in the park just prior to our arrival, and someone verbally told the camping participants they could stay an extra night without telling the park office. As a result, someone was on our initially assigned site AND on the "emergeny" site used for situations like ours. We ended up on a third site for the first night and then had to move to our initial site for the last two nights. All in all, staff was apologetic and tried to do right by us. I would recommend they instituate a procedure to make sure all those who are supposed to be gone are.
The sites vary in size, but were able to handle our tall 40' rig. All hookups worked well. Over the air TV was not a problem. Verizon was excellent.
The snow birds were very friendly. Upon arrival, we immediately got invited to a pancake breakfast and bingo.
This place is not an RV resort. But the price is right.

The campground is a bit of a hodgepodge setup - over 100 sites around a few ponds. Some sites are super huge, others are super tiny. All have full hook-ups with 50A power, and there's no designated right way in which to park. You can back in, pull in or find your perfect view.
Overall, a great park with a lot to offer right around - walking, hiking, biking, archery, disc golf, farmer's market, etc. The park itself can be quite hustling with activity, but the campground is somewhat secluded.
On weekends, it can get a bit crowded with locals on vacation, and since the park allows long term stays you'll find a mix of folks using the campground as temporary tent housing, seasonal snowbirds and RVers working locally. All and all, everyone seems to get along just fine.
One ding is the brand new sewer hookups are a bit awkwardly placed and aligned - making it difficult to fit most sewer hose connections.

I just want point something as far as the park goes it's beautiful here I feel safe because they have park rangers .iam a full time rver which I don't travel. I livein my motorhome .I know this a county park they don't let you stay here full time you can stay thru the yr except you have to leave for 2 weeks and come back if they have spot available..well you can't get a spot becouse the northerns and travelers get first choice they are allowed to book yrs in advance and thier is alot of us full timers in here that want to staybut are unable like my situation I have until November 14 then I have to leave and can't come back until there's a lot open which there isn't we full timers are here all year round off season this park wouldn't make money if it wasn't for us there are a lot of empty spots during the off season i know the park has its rules but I think they should give us that live here all yr round priority over northerners. when they come we that live here have to go and I don't think that is right .if they would only let us stay here and just make a special area for full timers they would have a booming business all year round they have alotof property in here to do that .so iam asking all the people that read these reviews if you are in the same situation as i am. I think we should all get together and do something about this either go to county hall and protest to allow us that are already in here but have to leave and there's no were to go let's fight this rule becouse we live here all yr pay taxes here so we should get more rights than the ones that come here and go becouse if it wasn't for us that live here they wouldn't make alot of money. during the off season iam not trying to cause trouble I lovethis park I call it my home and I don't want to leave I keep my lot nice it's not dirty like some here iam scared becouse it's just me and i have no were else to go i want to stay so please wickhampark let me stay I need this park i love this park I don't want to be out on the street were I have no were to go and no way no money . to travel until wickham park says they have alot available to all you northerners think about us that live here that when you guys come. then you leave you have somewhere to go when you leave we don't so becouse of you guys that come down for the winter just know that you are making us low-income people that live here full time becouse it's cheaper .your making us lose our housing spots and we have no were to go so think about how we feel that we are all going to be lotless which is the same as homeless. But other than that rule for this park I still give it five star rating becouse it's the best park I ever lived in and it's clean and it's a place we call home .
