Maricopa County maintains a very nice campground that it far enough away from Phoenix to feel remote and quite but close enough to make the west valley accessible. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the facilities well maintained. The bathrooms and showers were always clean.

Each site has picnic table, firepit, and grill (along with water and electricity), but there is a connecting wide walkway which was great for our kids who were constantly going back and forth between the RVs.
It’s a little out of town but that’s wonderful as you don’t get any city notices. Tucked into the mountains, with saguaro cactus all over. The bathhouse was clean and had one shower.

Amazing camp ground on mountain overlooking Phoenix. It is a city maintained campground with city water and super clean city standard bathrooms scattered across the large park. The Family Campground is near the top with beautiful city lights view and full hookups. Some campsites are pull through and some are back in. Tents through big rigs are accommodated. There is another campground and lots of side of the road camping available too, all of which have access to the bathrooms near them but no hookups. The park has lots of the tall stove type cactus and hiking trail. Everyone was friendly from the entrance gate people, the camp host and the park ranger. This is the most unique place we have camped. I highly recommend it.

Now for the good. Beautiful trails. Clean restrooms. Nice hot shower! Coyotes calling all throughout the night (quite close actually)! Gorgeous sunrises!

This is the best place I’ve stayed so far on my journey from Kentucky to California. Trails are amazing. Views are amazing. Sites at the Willow campground are amazing. Showers and restrooms are amazing. It was peaceful and gorgeous.

Sites are spaced out well, 50 feet or so in between. No noise at at night and quiet during the day. Site D23 had a great view of the mountains. Dump station on the road in. Lots of good hiking trails in the area, up to a 10 mile loop, accessible from the campground. Many beautiful, tall saguaros (20 feet) in and around the campground.
Fair AT&T cell coverage, 3-4 bars of 5G, with booster had no problems streaming. Over 100 HDTV channels, most were viewable.

We stayed in both the developed Family campground and the undeveloped Willow campground. Both of the sites we stayed at were spacious and clean. The Family campground has electricity and water at each site. However, only one shower per gender. The shower facilities at the Willow campground was surprisingly better than the Family campground. The views from both sites were stunning. And so many places to hike at and near the campsites. If we’re in the area again, we would definitely stay here. FYI, it is difficult to get reservations due to it’s popularity.

We really enjoyed this park. Our site was a little short for our rig, but other than that, it was great. Park had lots of cacti, especially saguaro, lots of hiking and biking trails, and lots of wildlife. We would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and biking.

Just wow. You know a campsite is good, when you're sad to be leaving it behind! We were in site 19 which is just across from the Ironwood trail. A great little hike we enjoyed daily. The sites are spread apart which made for a peaceful and quiet campground, especially during the week. Each site had a BBQ and firepit, which we enjoyed while looking at the twinkling lights of downtown Phoenix in the distance. There was a park ranger or camp host that patrolled quite frequently, which made us feel safe. Electric and water hookups at the site made us feel spoiled our first week of full-time life, and an easy dump station at the entrance/exit. Great reception with Verizon, even in the middle of a thunderstorm. About 45 minutes from Phoenix, which made for a nice getaway to enjoy date nights in the city. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
