It was away from the main campground area, so there were less amenities, and the trash drop was literally a drive away. But we went on a nice hike and they had a nice visitors center, so all in all a great stay. And it’s minutes from a crossing where we had no wait in the morning.

We work full time from the RV using T-mobile and AT&T cell data, but the park receives cell signal from Canada, which our provider limits our high speed data when abroad. With video calls and database work, that didn’t last too long and we had to spend much time on the other side of the island where we could get US networks

We had a site with electric- the loop we were In had mostly travel trailers. There are other loops that will accommodate smaller trailers but have no electricity. The loops with full hookups are all in an open field with no shade.
We had a view of the water and beautiful sunsets every night.
Bath houses are immaculate and showers are free.
There is a beautiful new playground and the beach area looked nice even tho it was closed the week we were there.
Kayaking is amazing In eel bay- use the kayak launch they provide.
No cel service for AT&T, but as soon as we left the park we picked up a signal near the little store/diner as you are leaving the state park.
Take an afternoon to go tour boldt castle.

We tent camped there last year during The first week of August. We had a site with no shade and it was warm, but that’s our only complaint. The park was very clean, the bathrooms and bath houses were well maintained, updated and plentiful. There were playgrounds for young kids, an arcade, a great beach and plenty of places to launch kayaks. The St. Lawrence was a little too windy to do much kayaking and we won’t be bringing them this year. You need bikes because the park is very large and it’s the easiest way around. The camp store was great and had everything except alcohol. There are no other stores on the island so you have to cross the bridge to get beer or things not sold at the camp store. Overall an awesome place to camp and we have reserved another week for this coming summer, but this time with our new travel trailer. There are sites for every size and shape rig.

It's a pleasant enough state park, and is very popular, but it appeared to be a prime destination for large families and multi-family groups so there was a lot of activity going on constantly. We were hoping for a bit more peaceful quiet. This wasn't the park for that, though it might have been due to our site location. It's a pretty setting though, so it has its charms.
Be aware that you must cross a bridge to access Wellesley Island and this state park. The cost was over $10 for the RV and toad (one direction only), and 3.25 for just the toad each time we to the mainland and back.

This is a very large park. There are many camping areas. We had an electric hookup with a nice pavement slab to park on. Drive or bike to the beach. Great playgrounds. From what we could see the full hookup section had very little shade. The drive over the bridge onto the island is fun.
