I arrived at 5:30 and Maria was leaving, even though the office hours were until 6. They assured me Maria would be available 24/7 and if we had any issues to give her a call and she’d answer. Pulled into our spot and started to hook up. The water valve was Jerry rigged and after barely touching it, it started spraying in the already deep groove that was there prior through our entire site, valve was broken and the water could not be shut off. My husband had an extra adapter with a valve he put on so we wouldn’t get wet. We went on to dump our tanks. Started and there was a crack in the sewer pipe barely underground a couple feet away from the sewer dump station and started leaking BLACK WATER every where while we were mid dump. We saw it was previously repaired, but obviously did not hold up. The maintenance man came and helped as best he could. He also said this campground was putting money into making more sites which is not allowing them to properly upkeep the current sites available. After 6 phone calls over an hour later we finally got in touch with Maria. I said how disappointed we were in the hookups and how nothing had worked properly, she said tough luck, and if I wanted a refund I need to leave. No other compensation offered. In the middle of my response she hung up on me. We were very confused on whether we were allowed to stay the night or not. At this point we’d rather stay in a rest stop. Site extremely unlevel and no usable hookups. Upset with KOA putting their name on this run down campground. Let alone hanging up on a customer mid conversation. Just rude.

This is conveniently located for exploring Fort Worth and just down the road from friends we were visiting. Not impressed at all when we pulled in. Campground is a bit unkempt looking and check in is a bit inconvenient for larger rigs. Most of the park are full time permanent looking rigs with quite a bit of personal belongings scattered about. The short term/ overnight guests are pull throughs but “buddy” type spots where your front door opens to your neighbors front door. Shared electric posts and when slides are out you are very close to your neighbor. Gravel sites super close together and not super level. Nothing bad….but nothing great either.

We enjoyed our time here at this KOA. Showers, restrooms, and laundry all clean and perfectly suitable. The pool is only open between Memorial Day and Labor Day though, so if you’re there in early May it won’t be open. The staff here are ultra friendly and will bend over backwards to accommodate reasonable requests.

It’s a good place to stay outside of the DFW area for a quick stay. Lots of campers parked closely together. Had trouble with the WiFi. Nothing bad about the place. Could hear some traffic but it’s right off the interstate, which is what makes it convenient to get to. Staff was friendly and there was plenty of space to walk your pet.

It's a KOA and seems to have quite a few permanent residents. I liked it because it was close to Dallas/Ft Worth but had a bit of country feel to it. The town of Weatherford which is probably now a suburb of Ft. Worth does have what seems like a commuter rush hour but has some small town charm. I can only imagine what Weatherford was like 20 years ago. The owners and hosts are very helpful.
The sites are normal private park spaces, pretty close together. What I liked, they have a great grassy field for dogs to play and a fenced in small dog park.
Also took Q-dog to Benbrook Reservoir for some swim time. However, I will caution that the area has a lot of glass so have to watch out for paws, but the water quality seemed good.

“Such A Shame”
noted 3/1/2024
The absolute worst KOA I’ve ever seen. I assume no one from Billings has ever seen this location. It’s been like this since before 2012. Weatherford is such a nice town too, so it doesn’t make a lot of sense to have the worst KOA in the country.
