We came in December & had the place completely to ourselves. During the winter months you are supposed to get a permit but there was no one there checking for them. Spots aren’t marked but there were picnic tables & a fire pit where each spot would be. Definitely recommend this location instead of staying at a truck stop. We were pulling a trailer, about 47ft all together & had no trouble getting in & out

This is the second time we camped here, we would camp here again if in the area.

The paved parking lot made it very easy to level. Quiet night with faint hwy 97 road noise and some train whistles. The fact that all roads are paved to this site is a plus. Easy to maneuver for large rigs and tow vehicles.
We love these remote sites.

Right off the highway in the woods. Still some snow on the ground, was fun for the kids to play in! It is a large parking lot, two of them actually) that they made into camping spots/tent spots. Spots have picnic table and camp fire ring. Because the ground was wet, it was nice to have the cement as our camping spot and the woods right outside our door. There are pit toilets, two on each side- and a little lodge with a wood fire stove inside. The rangers are so kind- they were here cleaning one of the first days we arrived. We checked with them about payment as the box/envelopes were not there yet and she confirmed they're not charging because they are not fully open yet. Water/dump etc. is still off. It was quiet but staff/officials drove through semi frequently just to check up on the place. 1 mile from a small town with a big pilot, laundry mat, mini market, and cafe. The north entrance to crater lake is closed so that was a bummer! Enjoy!

I couldn't actually find camp site numbers but I stayed 2 nights, really quite. Private no one bothered me. Lots of other people pulled in at night for the night only. I have n all America pass so I only payed $3.00 it is $6.00 otherwise. Has an RV dump whit a water for clean out. Has also Clean drinking water. Water is by the group site or by the restrooms. 2 places to fill. It looked like one abandoned car in the lot. No one came to it or moved it. I will be staying here again as I make lots of trips from Arizona to Nevada and o to Oregon. Only 4 miles to the cute little town of Chemult. that has propane in two locations I use the Chevrons because it was easier to pull into. I got good wifi on my tablet, phone and my hot spot worked well so I could use my computer. I have Verizon.

Spots for close to 10 campers. Picnic tables, fire rings, and 4 vault toilets. Road noise was loud and there were a ton of mosquitos. Good phone service.
